Heidi Klum, Queen of Halloween, teases this year's 'bloody' costume
Each year, Klum unveils her full costume at her star-studded costume party on Oct. 31 in New York City.
The Queen of Halloween is back! Supermodel Heidi Klum, who is known for her often grotesque, over-the-top Halloween looks, took to Instagram last week to share a sneak peek at this year's costume.
"What's my costume?" Klum captioned her Oct. 24 post, alongside a series of spooky emoji. "One week to go….#HeidiHalloween."
The mysterious image appears to show an array of prosthetics resembling human organs. Klum's fans were quick to share their predictions for her costume. Guesses ranged from short and sweet to hyper-specific, from "Coral reef. Inspired by St. Barth's" to "pirates of the caribbean when the pirates become sea creatures on the flying dutchman."
"Internal organs?" one commenter asked, while another remarked, "Looks like the inside of a stomach."
Additional guesses included Monstro Elisasue from The Substance , Ursula from The Little Mermaid, a Clicker from The Last of Us and a monster from Resident Evil.
"Idk but I'm gagging already," admitted another fan.
Klum has been sparing with her hints. Aside from the graphic, organ-like prosthetics, the supermodel told Parade that this year's costume will be "bloody."
It looks like we'll have to wait a few more days for Klum's final look. Each year, Klum unveils her full costume at her star-studded costume party on Oct. 31 in New York City. This year marks her 25th annual Halloween bash.
When it comes to her costume for All Hallows' Eve, Klum has a history of going all-out . Over the years, Klum has consistently debuted high-concept, unsightly transformations. Her greatest hits include E.T., a gigantic peacock, a slinky worm, a skin-baring zombie creature and Fiona from Shrek . Last year, Klum slithered into her costume bash as Medusa, complete with a scaled body, a tail and a head of snakes. Klum's husband, Tom Kaulitz, is always game to help bring her vision to life too, whether he's dressed as the Greek soldier that Medusa turned to stone, a bloodied fisherman or the Shrek to her Fiona.
Klum opened up about what sparked her desire to throw a costume party every Halloween, telling Parade, "I'd go to some of these Halloween parties and people were just not given anything."
Klum isn't concerned with looking sexy on Halloween. In fact, she prefers to go in the complete opposite direction. After seeing one too many unimpressive costumes, she decided to take matters into her own hands, hosting her first Halloween party in 2000.
"This is really how it sparked my idea on doing one myself because I thought all the parties were so lame and the costumes people were doing even lamer," Klum told Parade. "I was like, 'There needs to be a person who really shows them to give more.'"
