Jennifer Lawrence’s Husband Begged Her to ‘Get a Hotel Room’ After Testing a Haircare Product That Made Her Smell Like Fish

Jennifer Lawrence really committed to testing products for her new haircare brand, Mes.

The actress, 36, opened up about the venture in an interview with The Cut for its October 2026 cover, admitting that an unscented version of Mes' hair mask made her hair smell like fish when she left it on for four days.

"My husband was like, 'If you don't wash your hair, you have to get a hotel room," she recalled to the outlet.

Lawrence married art gallery director Cooke Maroney in 2019. The couple welcomed their first child , son Cy , in 2022, and in April 2025, sources confirmed to PEOPLE the arrival of the pair's second child , a son whose name hasn't been revealed to the public.

The Oscar winner's hair brand launched on Tuesday, Oct. 27, with three products: a repair mask, a restyling serum and a volumizing mist.

She explained to The Cut why the business move made sense for her career, saying, "There is an undeniable energetic thing that happens when you're creating things, whether it's a movie or a product. I got that same electric buzz I get from building a character. It's like, Well, I have to follow this because it's the same animal. "

However, Lawrence said she's still not sure how to talk about the brand. "I have to pretend I've made the greatest thing on earth," she shared. "Otherwise it gets too scary. It's a form of forced manifestation."

In the interview, the actress also shared her aspiration to be a "sexy mom," also touching on her plans to get a facelift in the future.

"I want to be a sexy mom," she said. "At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her s--t together even when I've just woken up and don't have my s--t together."

During a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025, Lawrence opened up about how becoming a parent has affected her career.

"Having children changes everything. It changes your whole life. It's brutal and incredible," she said. "Not only do they go into every decision of if I'm working, where I'm working, when I'm working — they've taught me ... and they've opened up the world to me."
