Abhishek Pathak's crime thriller 'Drishyam 3' has crossed Rs 340 crore at the worldwide box office, and actor Ajay Devgn says its different storyline from the Malayalam film was not a rebellion. The Hindi version, which released after Jeetu Joseph's Malayalam film earlier this year, followed its own route, and Ajay Devgn feels it was a natural chain of events. Is 'Drishyam 4' on the cards? The Malayalam version, starring Mohanlal, did not get the strong response the franchise is known for, and Jeethu Joseph seems to be working on a fourth part. Although 'Drishyam 3' was billed as 'The Conclusion', Ajay Devgn hinted that the makers, like his clever character Vijay Salgaonkar, may have a trick up their sleeve."At the moment, it is a conclusion," Ajay Devgn told Gulf News, before adding, "I can't predict it." When pressed, he did not rule out another film. "The decision was, this is the conclusion. The decision right now is that this is the conclusion… Right now," he added.Hindi and Malayalam teams shared their scriptsAfter Abhishek Pathak and his father, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Panorama Studios acquired the franchise from the Malayalam makers, the two teams began working together. During the interview, Ajay Devgn revealed, "Honestly speaking, they had not decided to make a third one. We were toying with the idea, and I think all the writers worked out some ideas, and they didn't work. And finally, things fell into place."He added, "We spoke to them, and we were like, 'Let's make it; we have a script.' And then they said that they're also working on something, and they had a script. So we thought, 'Let's hear each of her out and decide what to do.'"The Hindi writers Abhishek Pathak, Aamii Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh then exchanged scripts with Joseph, the writer of the Malayalam film. Why the Hindi team stuck to its own scriptAjay Devgn added, "Finally we came to the conclusion that this is a fabulous script, but it is most suited for their audience. And we were very confident about our script. So, then we decided that we will go ahead," recalled Devgn. "When you work hard and then you get something which is to the point, then you're confident enough to make it the way you want to make it."More about 'Drishyam 3: The Conclusion'The cast also includes Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Kamlesh Sawant.
