Lady Gaga 's fans have long called her Mother Monster — and now, the singer truly is a mom!

The Grammy winner, 40, and her fiancé, Michael Polansky , have welcomed their first baby together, a source tells PEOPLE.

Reps for Gaga did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Gaga has spoken previously about her desire to become a mother. In a YouTube video from December 2019 , she discussed her 10-year plan and said she hoped "babies" were part of that future.

"I want to do more movies, I want to have babies," she said at the time.

In a March 2020 interview with InStyle , Gaga opened up again about her desire to start a family.

"I will say I am very excited to have kids," she said. "I look forward to being a mom. Isn't it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it's our job to keep it alive."

The superstar added that she felt she had already taken on a maternal role as Mother Monster to her many fans.

"It's so funny — everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, 'Welcome to the Womb!' " she quipped.

More recently, Gaga revealed her hope that motherhood would be her "next starring role."

"I would like to do many things," she said of her future plans during an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert . "All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That's my next starring role, I hope."

Gaga and Polansky were first linked in 2020 when they were photographed kissing at a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas. Shortly after, they made their relationship Instagram official after packing on the PDA at the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the couple ended up quarantining together, further strengthening their bond. In April 2020, a source close to the singer exclusively told PEOPLE that they had "been hanging out at her house" and "ordering delivery food" while they self-isolated.

In the years since, the pair have kept a low profile and continue to quietly support each other's endeavors. In November 2021, a source told PEOPLE that they bonded over their charitable efforts. Polansky serves as the executive director of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, while Gaga has been a mental health advocate through her Born This Way Foundation since 2012.

"Michael is very sweet and supportive," the insider added. "He is hardworking as well, so he appreciates her focus. They are a great team."

In July 2024, Gaga revealed that she is engaged to Polansky to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the 2024 Paris Olympics .

In a TikTok posted by Attal at the time, Gaga could be heard introducing Polansky as "my fiancé" as the trio spectated a swimming event together.
