Glastonbury Festival 2027 coach tickets oversold in admin error

Bookings will automatically be converted into a general admission ticket and coach fare refunded.

An administrative error resulted in coach journeys to the Glastonbury Festival being oversold through its official ticketing partner.

More coach package tickets were sold for certain departures than there are seats available, according to an email See Tickets sent to customers.

Those affected will not lose their tickets however. Instead, their booking will automatically be converted into a general admission ticket and the coach fare will be refunded.

The ticketing agency declined to comment further, but the BBC understands Glastonbury Festival was not responsible for the error.

Glastonbury coach ticket prices range from £26 to £185 - on top of general admission - depending on the departure town or city and whether it is a single or return journey.

Affected customers have been told that unless they opt to keep their coach seat by 31 October 2026, their booking will automatically be converted to general admission.

The coach fare will then be refunded to the card used for the original booking.

See Tickets' customer services department assured customers the error will not affect festival deposits, and ticket holders will be able to pay the remaining balance for their tickets as normal in April.

The agency apologised and thanked customers for their understanding, adding: "We're looking forward to welcoming you to the festival in June."

For some the news is welcome, as it provides more flexibility with travel arrangements.

Glastonbury Festival requires those who bought a coach ticket to board their designated coach for the initial journey to the festival, or entry could be denied.

It is part of the festival's Green Travel Initiatives , where they encourage revellers to use public transportation in a bid to reduce the environmental impact.

Laura Brooks, based in Birmingham, says she and her friends bought the coach package because "we had failed so often getting [general admission] tickets".

She had planned to meet them in London to travel to Somerset together, but can now arrange simpler and shorter journeys from their own respective homes.

"I don't mind the admin error, they're clearly dealing with it sooner than later. These things happen," she said.

"I'm just glad we've not lost our tickets altogether."
