Aviation Company files Rs 3 crore defamation suit against Nora Fatehi for referring to their aircraft as toy plane, calls her reckless and irresponsible: '15-20 per cent decline in bookings because of her'

Nora Fatehi has landed herself in some legal trouble as an aviation company has filed Rs 3 crore civil defamation case against the actress. For those not in the know, this suit is filed by aviation company Dunes Aviation after the actress allegedly made comments about one of their chartered aircrafts on social media. The company has accused the actor of making derogatory and reckless remarks that damaged its reputation and affected its business. The matter will be heard by senior civil judge R Agarwal at a Gandhinagar court on September 25, according to PTI.The dispute comes after Nora allegedly shot inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 while travelling from Mumbai to Jaipur in December last year. She later shared this video on Instagram, where she reportedly described the aircraft as a "miniature", a "toy" and a "Lego airplane".The aviation company has claimed that the comments had a direct impact on its business, particularly because of Nora's substantial social media following. The company alleged that her remarks resulted in booking cancellations and caused a 15-20 per cent drop in bookings, leading to financial losses and damage to its goodwill.In its suit, filed in April, the company described Nora's statements as "reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis". It further alleged that, given the actor's more than 4.6 crore Instagram followers, her comments caused "serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact" to the business.Dunes Aviation has claimed that any suggestion that the aircraft was unsuitable or unsafe for the journey. According to the company, the Cessna Citation CJ2 was appropriately sized for the Mumbai-Jaipur trip and was fully DGCA-certified and airworthy. It also maintained that the aircraft was being operated legally under a valid NSOP.Thus now, the company is seeking Rs 3 crore in damages from Nora. Apart from that, it has asked the court to direct the removal of social media posts and other content carrying the disputed remarks or references to the aircraft.
