Victorious Festival: What you need to know

Victorious Festival returns to Southsea Common this weekend.

Friday night will see Richard Ashcroft headline with The Black Keys on Saturday and Kasabian will close the festival on Sunday

The three-day festival on the seafront throws open its doors on Friday - Sunday from 11:00 - 23:00 BST with the site area closing on Thursday for final preparations.

Up to 80,000 ticketholders are expected to go to the festival each day. There's no entry or re-entry after 20:00.

Most of the seafront will stay open during the festival weekend along with attractions including South Parade Pier, The Pyramids, Exploria, Blue Reef Aquarium, Southsea Beach Cafe and Clarence Pier.

Southsea Castle, The D-Day Story and Southsea Splashpark are closed to the public for the festival from Thursday.

Arrangements can be made for visiting veterans wishing to access the D-Day Story.

They will reopen to the public from Monday 31 August.

In addition to this year's headliners the bill includes a vast array of music including Scissor Sisters, Faithless, Bastille, Nile Rogers and CHIC, The Streets, Pixie Lott, Basement Jaxx, Jessie J, The Vaccines, Kate Nash and Kelis.

As part of the city celebrating its centenary the Southsea Common Bandstand will offer panoramic views of the Solent and host performances the 100th band to perform at the Bandstand in 2026 will take to its stage during the festival.

Along with the music there is a roller disco and skate park show and a kids stage and professional wrestling.

Ideally walk, cycle or use public transport.

Buses are running from the Hard Interchange dropping off at Clarence Pier. All three train stations are within walking distance of the festival site.

If you are driving into Portsmouth there is no onsite car park for Victorious. Parking is at Lakeside Car park, which needs pre-booking and then you can get a shuttle bus to the festival.

Ferry services run from the Isle of Wight and Gosport and Hayling. The closest crossing to the festival site from the island is the hovercraft from Ryde - all need pre-booking.

Various road closures will be in place around the festival site when people leave between 22:30 and just before midnight each night.

To help people leave the festival safely at the end of each day, some roads close to Southsea Common will be temporarily shut to vehicles between 22:30 and just before midnight.

Clarence Esplanade will reopen from 08:00 on Bank Holiday Monday. Avenue De Caen will re-open later in the week.

It is card payments only across all bars and food stalls.

Some items, including chairs and large umbrellas, are not allowed at the festival along with flags with poles, drones and laser pens.
