'Farzi' season 2 update: Yukti Thareja confirmed as female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor

Actress Yukti Thareja, whose credits include ‘Hai Junoon! Dream. Dare. Dominate’ and ‘Delhi Crime Season 3’, is joining ‘Farzi Season 2’ as its leading lady. Directed by the duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the crime thriller returns next year, following a first season that made a big mark on India's OTT scene.Yukti Thareja joins the crime thrillerSpeaking to Variety India, Thareja confirmed that she is part of the show. "I'm playing the main female lead in Farzi Season 2. I'm the only central female protagonist this season. All my scenes are with Shahid Kapoor. My character is a fearless Gen-Z woman who speaks up against the system. It's a strong, layered role with real substance. I've already shot the majority of my portion, with about 20% left to complete, and the season is expected to release in mid-2027."Yukti Thareja enters Sunny and Firoz's worldIn the first season of ‘Farzi’, Kapoor played Sunny, a restless young man who turns to forging currency. It closed with Sunny and his best friend Firoz (Bhuvan Arora) slipping away from both Special Task Force officer Michael Vedanayagam (Vijay Sethupathi) and crime lord Mansoor Dalal (Kay Kay Menon). Season two will follow the pair as they keep their counterfeiting operation running while staying one step ahead of these two dangerous adversaries.Yukti Thareja's rise from 'Lut Gaye' to 'Marco'Thareja rose to popularity through the music video ‘Lut Gaye’, where she appeared opposite Emraan Hashmi.
