Charles Reportedly Bracing for ‘All-Out War’ with ‘Unleashed’ Harry & Meghan—They’re ‘No Longer Afraid of the Consequences’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have adopted a strategy of publicly challenging Palace statements, believing silence failed them before, and are no longer afraid of the consequences.

Prince William is reportedly "absolutely fuming" and suspects that Harry and Meghan think they will be accepted back onto the Royal roster, potentially leading to an "all-out war" within the royal family.

Prince Charles was reportedly less than happy to learn that British security officials were informed about Harry's return before he was, leading to further strain in their relationship as the King seeks advice on minimizing risk to the family.

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle touched down in the UK, everyone has been speculating about what their return means, not just for their relationships with the British royal family, but for their role as royals. Will they return to the fold? Will they remain private citizens, just in the UK? Can the family really find peace at least?

According to Hollywood insider Rob Shuter , that's still up in the air, particularly because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seemed to have adopted a strategy of publicly challenging Palace statements, according to the gossip journalist.

"Harry and Meghan feel completely unleashed," a royal source told Shuter's Naughty But Nice . "They believe silence failed them before, so now their attitude is: if the Palace says something they don't like, they will answer. They're no longer afraid of the consequences."

How will the King respond? "Charles will not turn the monarchy into a reality show," the source said. "He isn't going to respond to every complaint, accusation or perceived slight. The Crown has survived far bigger storms by refusing to wrestle in the mud."

Prince William , however, might be another matter altogether. And it could reportedly turn into an "all-out war."

"They're absolutely fuming to be blindsided like this but, like the King, there's nothing they can do about it," a source told Woman's Day about William and Kate Middleton 's reaction to Harry and Meghan's return to the UK.

"William suspects Harry and Meghan actually do think they're going to be accepted back onto the Royal roster," the insider continued. "It may not happen overnight, but William's convinced this is their long game – and he's stunned that Harry thinks there would be even remotely a chance."

Reportedly, the heir to the throne has been participating in "intense meetings on how to minimise any risk to him and the family. He'll be seeking advice from everyone from lawyers to diplomatic-crisis experts."

Sounds a little dramatic. But this is the royal family. Plus, reports say Charles was less than happy to learn that his son allegedly told British security officials about his return before he was told.

"The King understands perfectly well why the appropriate authorities needed advance warning, particularly given Harry's long-running concerns about security," a royal source told RadarOnline . "What angered him and made him furious was discovering that officials apparently knew something as significant as his son's return before he did."

The insider added that, "after everything that has happened between them, Charles regarded that as extremely disappointing. This isn't some routine visit lasting a couple of days – Harry is bringing his wife and children back to Britain."

And it's on the list of things that might affect their relationship. "The King wants a relationship with his son and particularly wants opportunities to see his grandchildren. Against that background, finding himself further down the information chain than the Home Office was never going to improve matters."
