Martin, who went on to become president of Sherwin-Williams. Martin remained at Moyenage until his death in 1944.The property later belonged to James H. Rand III, an inventor and scientist whose life was equally unusual. According to report by Case Western Reserve University⁠, Rand was credited with numerous inventions and served during World War II, including work with the U.S. Office of Strategic Services. He also established a laboratory in the estate’s former gardener’s cottage across the street.The house even appeared on televisionMoyenage’s history also includes a small piece of television history. In 1962, its entry hall, living room, dining room and bedroom were used during the filming of an episode of the CBS series Route 66.
