Shane Gillis's ex-girlfriend, Grace Brassel, has responded to his controversial "Saturday Night Live" monologue, that featured a polarizing joke about how women dress at the gym in 2026.

"Going to the public gym as a fat guy, especially in New York, is a nightmare, dude. It's just the hottest gay guys you've ever seen. They're jacked, and they look at me like, 'Yeah, right.' I know, dude," he began.

"Also, I haven't been to the gym in so long. I didn't know women just dressed like whores now," he continued. "Look, I'm sorry. There's no other way to describe — have you seen it? I've seen it. The shorts. Have you seen the shorts?"

Gills has received praise from some and blowback from others, including Hollywood stars and former "SNL" cast members.

"Women wearing shorts at the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists," Emmy-winning actor Dan Levy said in an Instagram reel.

"I'm speechless that something like that can exist on live national television," he added.

Brassel, who dated Gillis for about a year, beginning in 2024, taunted the comedian with her gym outfit on Tuesday.

"fitcheck!" she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Brassel has previously spoken out about their relationship

Brassel, who has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, has previously spoken out about their relationship.

Last Monday, October 5, she posted an Instagram reel, addressing the breakup and more.

"Last year I was in a relationship that fully stripped me of who I am. I've been so terrified to even talk about what I went through, especially after relentless bullying from his fanbase (for no reason). I want to share this to let women know IT GETS BETTER!! And you can do it! I had it on level hard mode and I survived! And I've never been happier .❤️ 🫂," she posted to her page.

Gillis, who previously hosted The ESPYS, has not spoken out in response to the blowback to his "SNL" monologue.
