Travis Kelce reacts to Taylor Swift’s viral touchdown moment at Chiefs game: ‘Just doing my deed as a husband’

Travis Kelce reacts to Taylor Swift's joyous response to his touchdown on Sunday.

The NFL star said he's "just doing my deed as a husband."

Swift went viral after she celebrated his goal by pointing to her ring and saying, "That's my husband!"

Travis Kelce is simply just being a good husband when he plays good football.

The Kansas City Chiefs star reacted to his wife Taylor Swift 's exuberant response to him scoring his first touchdown of the 2026-2027 NFL season, admitting he's got to deliver the goals for his girl.

"Just doing my deed as a husband," Travis said on his and brother Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast Wednesday, Sept. 23, as they looked through memes of her celebratory moment.

"Internet's having a good ol' time with this s---," Travis said while he and Jason read through the viral posts. "Listen man, proud wife, baby. Gotta make my girl proud."

Swift was beyond proud of her hubby as he caught a 13-yard pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the first quarter of the Chiefs' game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Sept. 20. She was seen jumping out of her seat and excitedly pointing to her wedding ring as Travis ran the ball into the end zone.

The "Patient Zero" singer appeared to say, "That's my husband," according to clips on social media .

The Chiefs went on to win the game 33-30, and Travis surpassed Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk after reaching over 6,288 career yards after the catch (YAC), taking the top YAC spot in NFL history .

Travis spoke about his record-breaking play on New Heights , telling his brother, "You got to find the void and, on top of that, be on time with the QB." He said Mahomes "put [the ball] f---ing right on the money."

"There was never a doubt in our mind that we were going to go out there and do our job," Travis said of his team's win, adding, "there's always something to do better."

This is Travis' first NFL season as a married man after he and Swift tied the knot at New York City's Madison Square Garden in front of 1,000 guests on July 3. Swift has been supporting her now-husband for years at his Chiefs' games, although this go-around seems to be even more momentous.

KC coach Andy Reid said he thinks Swift is one of the reasons why Travis is performing so well on the field during his 14th year on the team.

"Listen, Trav worked his tail off," Reid told KSHB 41 on Monday, Sept. 21 "Everybody questioned, with the wedding and all that, would he be out of shape... but he works his rear end off. And I think Taylor, you're putting on four-hour shows; you've gotta work hard, too. So I'm sure she kicks him in the butt a little bit there, too."

Swift has been spotted cheering on Travis this month alongside their parents, as well as brother Jason ( and even Tom Cruise ). No doubt there are more newlywed moments to come.
