Dhanbad police to boost security, enforce traffic curbs for Durga Puja

Dhanbad: Additional personnel would be deployed at Durga Puja pandals and other sensitive locations across the district. Traffic diversions, one-way routes and no-entry restrictions will be introduced wherever required to ensure smooth movement of devotees and prevent congestion.Addressing the Sept monthly crime review meeting on Saturday, SSP Prabhat Kumar said, “Leaves of police personnel have been cancelled to ensure adequate deployment during the festival. Police personnel, home guards and other additional forces would be deployed as required. Officers have been directed to maintain vigilance at crowded locations, coordinate with puja committees, and promptly address any law-and-order concerns.”Police would also conduct security audits of banks, ATMs and jewellery shops, strengthen patrolling and improve festival-time security. Discussions covered crime prevention, pending investigations, thefts, housebreaking, cybercrime and traffic management.Puja committees have been asked to display banners promoting cyber safety and drug de-addiction awareness.Stay updated with the latest Ranchi news.
