Vijay Sankar named FICCI president-elect for 2026-27

Chennai: FICCI has named Vijay Sankar, chairman of Chennai-based Sanmar Group, as its president-elect for 2026-27. He will succeed Anant Goenka as president of the industry body after its annual general meeting on November 18-19 in New Delhi.Sankar, currently senior vice-president of FICCI, heads the Sanmar Group, a global industrial conglomerate with interests in chemicals, speciality chemicals, engineering, steel foundries and shipping.He is an independent director on the boards of TVS Motor Company and Larsen & Toubro, and chairman of Chemplast Sanmar Ltd.Sankar is also the honorary consul general of Denmark in Chennai.
