Trader Joe’s to open more than 30 new stores ‘soon’: Here’s where

(NEXSTAR) – After consulting its “maps and compass,” Trader Joe’s has announced plans to expand in multiple cities, marking just the latest expected expansion of the nation’s favorite grocer .

Trader Joe’s previously confirmed it would open at least 25 stores this year . The latest of those new stores recently opened in Herriman, Utah, and Lafayette, Louisiana, according to the company’s website. A store in Reading, Massachusetts, celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday.

Last week, the grocer shared the next three cities in which it expects to open new locations:

Boynton Beach, Florida: 334 N Congress Ave Unit B

Trader Joe’s expects to open all three in 2027.

This will be Boynton Beach’s first such store, while Bend and Phoenix are already home to one Trader Joe’s store each. Phoenix is, however, on track to see another location open “soon,” according to the grocer’s website.

Here’s where Trader Joe’s anticipates opening other new stores “soon,” as of Oct. 12:

Arizona: Phoenix (21001 North Tatum Boulevard, Suite 1030)

California: Anaheim Hills (6336 East Santa Ana Canyon Road), Leucadia (1590 Leucadia Boulevard), Riverbank (2135 Claribel Road), San Diego (3962 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard)

Colorado: Denver (8564 East Northfield Boulevard)

Florida: Orlando (1444 North Alafaya Trail) and Sarasota (8199 S Tamiami Trail Unit 100)

Illinois: Oswego (1930 US-34), Chicago (804 West Montrose Avenue and 6191 N. Lincoln Avenue), Joliet (2741 Plainfield Road)

Maryland: Baltimore (6311 York Road – Anneslie)

Massachusetts: Quincy (111 General McConville Way)

Michigan: Farmington Hills (27658 Middlebelt Road)

Nebraska: Omaha (192nd and Burke Street)

New Jersey: West Orange (471 Mt. Pleasant Avenue) and Jersey City (55 Hudson Street)

New York: Syracuse (3515 West Genesee Street) and Yonkers (2482 Central Park Avenue)

Ohio: University Heights (2643 Warrensville Center Road)

Texas: Bellaire (5130 Bellaire Boulevard Suite 100), Cedar Park (1800 East Whitestone Boulevard), and Mansfield (1580 East Debbie Lane)

Washington: Seattle (401 NE Northgate Way) and Spokane Valley (13414 East Sprague Avenue)

While there is no designated opening date for these locations, a Trader Joe’s spokesperson previously confirmed to Nexstar that stores are typically marked as “opening soon” online three to six months before they’re expected to open.

Trader Joe’s lists openings at several of the above locations, potentially indicating plans to open sooner rather than later. That includes at stores opening in Baltimore , Chicago , Jersey City , Phoenix , Quincy , Reading , Riverbank , San Diego , Spokane Valley , and Syracuse . Starting pay for the positions, which are primarily “crew” with a few “mate” managerial roles, ranges from $16 to $32 an hour.

Officials in Oswego , Joliet , Riverbank , Spokane Valley , and University Heights suggested their new Trader Joe’s stores could open yet this fall. The new New York locations could open before the year ends. Trader Joe’s previously reported that it planned to open its store in Reading in 2026.

As of late 2026, you can find the nautical-themed retailer in 42 states and the District of Columbia. The only states still awaiting a Trader Joe’s store are Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
