BENGALURU: Digital healthcare company Practo has appointed Jagnoor Singh as its chief executive, while founder Shashank ND has taken on the role of managing director and executive chairman. The reshuffle comes as the Bengaluru-based company expands overseas and evaluates a possible stock market listing.Singh assumed charge on September 1. He joined Practo as chief operating officer last year and will now oversee its strategy, operations and growth across markets. Before joining Practo, he held senior positions at Bharti Airtel, Unacademy and Oyo.In his new role, Shashank will continue to guide the company’s broader vision, product strategy and long-term innovation plans. He will also oversee capital allocation, acquisitions and corporate development, Practo said.The company has made several other leadership changes. Cofounder Siddhartha Nihalani has been named CEO of its consumer business, while Rowel Coelho will serve as chief operating officer of its business-to-business operations. Cofounder Abhinav Lal will become chief scientist and lead research into the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.The changes come as Practo builds its presence outside India. It entered the UAE in 2025 and launched a care-navigation platform in the US earlier this year. The company said its US platform has more than 200,000 doctors listed and has crossed an annualised gross merchandise value run rate of $75 million.Practo also said its business is growing 40% annually and has remained profitable for the past two-and-a-half years. It had reported an operating loss of Rs 17 crore in FY24, down 90% from the previous year. The company subsequently said FY25 was its first full year of profitability, with an operating Ebitda of Rs 15 crore.Founded in 2008 by National Institute of Technology Karnataka alumni Shashank and Abhinav Lal, Practo began as a software provider for doctors. It later expanded into online consultations, appointment bookings, healthcare discovery and enterprise software. Its business-to-business portfolio includes hospital management platform Insta, which it acquired in 2015.The company has raised more than $228 million from investors including Peak XV Partners, formerly Sequoia Capital India, Matrix Partners, Tencent, CapitalG, Sofina, Altimeter Capital, Thrive Capital and AIA Group. Its last major funding round was in August 2020, when it raised $32 million in a round led by Hong Kong-based insurer AIA Group.Practo has also been considering an initial public offering.
