(NEXSTAR) – Are you a CVS customer? Or have you ever been? There’s a good chance you qualify for a payment in a $20.5 million class action settlement reached with the pharmacy chain.
The class action lawsuit claims CVS disclosed customers’ personal data collected on the pharmacy’s website to Criteo, an advertising company. CVS said it hasn’t violated any laws, but agreed to settle the case.
Included in the settlement are direct payments of either $5 or $10 to affected customers – and a huge group of people are affected. “All living individuals who accessed the CVS Digital Properties in the United States prior to July 27, 2026” qualify for at least a $5 payment.
How do you know if you accessed one of the “CVS Digital Properties?” According to the settlement agreement , anyone who used the CVS website (CVS.com), the CVS Health website (CVSHealth.com) or the CVS app all qualify. That could have been to make a vaccine appointment, check on a prescription, order something online, print photos, or anything else.
The trick is that if you want the full $10 payment, you’ll have to prove you used the website or app when filing a claim. The claim form prompts you to upload a piece of proof, “like browser search history, screenshots showing dates, and/or email receipts of online purchases demonstrating your access of a CVS Digital Property prior to July 27, 2026.”
If you can’t prove you used the site or app, you can still file a claim for $5.
You can fill out the claim form online or send it by mail. The deadline to file is Nov. 16, and you can elect to receive your payment by PayPal, Venmo or Zelle.
A final approval hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 1.
