(Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc. on Monday confirmed that it's holding a product launch event on Oct. 28, where the company is planning to debut its first touch-screen MacBook.
The event, which will take place in Los Angeles, is dubbed "Pro and tell," a nod to the MacBook Pro update. Apple will also introduce a new low-end MacBook Pro with an M6 chip, a refreshed iMac and a revamped iPad mini with a sharper screen, Bloomberg News has reported.
The introductions follow a slew of other product debuts in recent weeks, including the new HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and updated Apple TV set-top box. The company's first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, goes on sale Friday.
Apple retail stores are preparing to begin selling new products on Friday, Nov. 6, Bloomberg reported on Sunday. The new touch-screen MacBook Pros will mark a major reversal for the company, which said for years that it wouldn't combine the iPad and Mac experiences.
The new touch MacBooks are expected to include a Dynamic Island interface — like on the iPhone — as well as a sharper display that uses OLED technology. Both will mark firsts for a Mac. The new machines will also run M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, matching the current MacBook Pros introduced in March.
