IndiGo to connect Mumbai and Dar es Salaam from November

MUMBAI: In about two months, Mumbaiikars will get a second option to fly non-stop to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with Indian carrier IndiGo planning to launch the route on Nov 20. Currently, Air Tanzania operates a daily non-stop flight between Mumbai and the largest city of Tanzania.IndiGo flight 6E 1851 will depart Mumbai at 2.20 am to land at Dar es Salaam at 6.05 am, while the return will take off at 7.05 am and land in Mumbai at 3.55 pm (all local times). The cheapest to and fro airfare on non-stop flights are currently priced at around Rs 60,000. IndiGo has launch fares of around Rs 47,000 for a return trip. Bookings for the flights are open on IndiGo’s official website mobile app, or through authorised travel partners, said the airline in a press statement. Booking a holiday to witness the great migration at Serengeti or scale Kilimanjaro or merely take in the turquoise waters and white sands of the Zanzibar archipalego will be a tad cheap this winter.India and Tanzania share a longstanding relationship built on trade, commerce and cultural exchange. India is among Tanzania's largest trading partners, with growing engagement across sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare, among others.Aloke Singh, chief strategy officer, IndiGo, said, “The launch of direct daily flights between Mumbai and Dar es Salaam underscores our commitment to building stronger connections between India and fast-growing global markets.
