Meta ( META ) CEO Mark Zuckerberg laid out his plan for monetizing the company's wildly popular Muse AI agent during its Meta Connect conference on Wednesday.

"We believe that Muse will make you money," Zuckerberg told the room full of developers. "And we are standing behind this by making Muse free for a huge number of tokens with the expectation that over time we will profit by taking a small fee from transactions."

Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang explained that the company has added support for PayPal and announced integrations with retailers including Walmart ( WMT ), Best Buy ( BBY ), The Gap ( GAP ), Sephora, Wayfair ( W ), American Eagle ( AEO ), and others.

On the travel side, Meta is adding the ability to connect with Expedia ( EXPE ). The company is also bringing grocery shopping to Muse via Instacart.

In addition to laying out the company's plans to monetize Muse, Wang also said the company is rolling out computer control for the Mac, allowing the agent to take over your Mac on your behalf.

Muse is also coming to Meta's Meta VR Glasses, letting you speak to the agent on the go, as well as the company's upcoming Muse Charm, a dedicated handheld device that will allow people to speak to Muse without needing a smartphone or glasses.

While he said engineers are putting the finishing touches on the product, Zuckerberg said it will be available in time for the holidays.

According to market intelligence firm Sensor Tower, the Muse app hit 560,000 daily active users after just 11 days.

The app's early success sent Meta stock soaring 11% on Monday , as the market digested the positive news.

While AI agents aren't new, Muse is the first built for the average consumer without requiring any deep technical know-how.

Wall Street analysts are high on Meta's Muse agent, with Wells Fargo and KeyBanc Capital Markets raising their price targets on Meta amid early uptake of the app.

Muse also provides Meta with a clear revenue source outside its standard advertising business, helping drive a return on its vast investments in AI.
