Money from art exhibition donated to Golden Guernsey Goat group
Members of the Art for Guernsey team met with the group to hand over the donation.
Money raised by an art exhibition has been donated to help with the costs of 10 goats imported to introduce new bloodlines to Guernsey's goat population.
The Royal Golden Guernsey Goat Foundation was set up as part of the effort to protect and promote the breed on its native island.
More than £2,500 has been donated by Art for Guernsey from the sale of artworks that featured in the goat-themed exhibition that was held in their Mansell Street gallery in May.
Members of the Art for Guernsey team met with the foundation committee and its patron the Lieutenant-Governor Lt Gen Sir Richard Cripwell at Government House to announce the donation.
Sir Richard said: "Art for Guernsey's goat exhibition brought out the best in the island's artistic talent, engaged local school children and has directly benefited this special breed.
"It shows great initiative and the power of art for a good cause.
"I am grateful to David and his team for their initiative and support."
