MUMBAI: Mohit Jain, chief operating officer, publishing, and board member of Bennett, Coleman & Co (BCCL), has been unanimously elected chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for 2026-27. The Economic Times is published by BCCL.The ABC is a grouping that comprises publishers, advertisers and advertising agencies. It conducts market surveys and certifies circulation figures reported by publishers.Jain’s election marks BCCL’s return to the chairmanship of the ABC after 43 years since its previous representative held the position.Taking charge as chairman, Jain said the focus will be on furthering newspaper readership.“To engage younger and urban households, newspapers are innovating in content, design, distribution and their integration with digital platforms,” Jain said. “Publishers are also using campaigns to reinforce the value of a daily reading habit—depth, perspective, discovery and trusted information.
