Chennai: Delta Electronics India has begun producing smart surveillance cameras with its digital security system subsidiary VIVOTEK at its Krishnagiri plant in Tamil Nadu.Initial manufacturing will focus on the commercial series compliant with India’s mandatory BIS standards, while VIVOTEK plans to widen its portfolio by phasing in mid-to-high-end AI surveillance models tailored for smart cities and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Delta will scale up Krishnagiri’s manufacturing capacity, the company said in a statement.India has effectively restricted China-made CCTVs, opening opportunities for domestic manufacturing. Local production significantly cuts spare-parts turnaround times, enabling system integrators to meet domestic procurement criteria and compete in government and public tenders, it said.
