The Adani Group has completed or is currently executing projects worth at Rs 2.6 lakh crore in Maharashtra, Pranav Adani said on Thursday, during the launch of the state’s investment promotion agency, “Invest Maharashtra”.Speaking at the launch programme, Pranav Adani, who is Managing Director, Agro, Oil & Gas for Adani Group said the group’s planned investments in Maharashtra are worth more than Rs 6 lakh crore. The proposed projects cover a range of sectors, including energy, aviation and aero-districts, urban regeneration, data centres and coal gasification."At the World Economic Forum in Davos and through state partnerships, the Adani Group has committed to an investment blueprint exceeding 6 lakh crore rupees across critical and upcoming sectors like energy, aviation and aero-districts, urban regeneration, data centres and coal gasification. Projects worth 2.6 lakh crore rupees are already completed or under execution," he said according to an ET report. He noted that the Adani Group’s association with Maharashtra goes back several decades. However, its latest investment commitments mark a substantial expansion in the scale of its plans, as the state works towards its goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2030, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region expected to be a key driver.Adani ElectricityPranav Adani said Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) provides electricity to over 3 million residential homes and establishments across Mumbai. He said renewable energy now accounts for over 60% of AEML’s electricity supply, and the company intends to raise this proportion to 70% or more. The Adani Group is also running a 1,000 MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission corridor to supply green electricity to Mumbai."And to insulate Mumbai’s financial core from outages, our 1,000 MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission link brings resilient, clean green power directly into the city," he said.Pranav Adani further said the group’s pumped-storage hydro projects in Maharashtra are designed to help ensure a continuous supply of green baseload power.AviationHighlighting the group’s presence in Maharashtra’s aviation sector, Pranav Adani referred to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), which it manages, as well as the greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport."Alongside it, we are delivering the greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport - a transformative infrastructure asset designed to anchor the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s growth – and eventually handle over 90 million passengers annually," he said. The group is additionally building integrated airport-linked business and hospitality districts around both aviation hubs. Pranav Adani said these developments are intended to bring changes to urban mobility and commercial activity.Dharavi projectPranav Adani also spoke about the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, calling it a significant part of the group’s role in reshaping Mumbai’s urban landscape."Our approach is people-first: ensuring dignity, creating modern housing before relocation, formalising and safeguarding thousands of microenterprises - from leathercraft to pottery - and transforming Asia's largest informal settlement into a vibrant, integrated economic hub without displacing the community's soul," he said.He said the initiative is among the group’s contributions to “Mumbai 3.0”, envisaged as a metropolitan region that is better connected, more balanced and inclusive.According to Pranav Adani, the launch of Invest Maharashtra will create a platform to take investor interest beyond expressions of intent and translate it into projects on the ground."On behalf of the Adani Group, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Government of Maharashtra and its hard-working people," he said.He said the group seeks to play a role in expanding Maharashtra’s industrial base while contributing to the state’s wider development goals.
