Week 1 action continues Sunday with a contentious rivalry matchup, a game at a historic NFL stadium and an ACC vs. SEC showdown between playoff hopefuls. It's a small slate, but it's a good one. Washington State and No. 17 Washington will get things started in the latest iteration of the Apple Cup. If that doesn't feel right on opening weekend, you can blame conference alignment for the move. (At least the rivals are still playing!) In the evening, Wisconsin will take on No. 4 Notre Dame at Lambeau Field in a showdown that's lost some luster since it was scheduled as the Badgers have fallen off in Luke Fickell's tenure. Still, we'll get a first look at CJ Carr and what should be a more pass-heavy Irish team.Simultaneously, two College Football Playoff hopefuls will meet in the Music City Kickoff as No. 9 Ole Miss faces No. 24 Louisville.
