From 19th to first, Mercedes’ points leader Kimi Antonelli put on a show in his home country, becoming the first Italian to win at Monza since 1966. Teammate George Russell finished second, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen rounded out the podium. It was a much less happy ending for the home team, as Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton came in sixth and Charles Leclerc didn’t finish after crashing on the third lap.
