Our top October Amazon Prime Day deals Best Amazon deals: Style From our style expert: Cozy, mid-weight fall staples have been sitting on retailer shelves since back-to-school season, which means they're most likely to see steep discounts right now. That's because brands need to make room for heavier winter staples like coats and boots. I'd suggest waiting on those heavier layers for now and instead taking a close look at mid-weight jackets (denim, leather, barn coats, shackets, etc.), jeans and sweaters, which will probably all be marked down this week. Now's a great time to get prepared for holiday visitors and the house cleaning that hosting inevitably requires. I'm seeing discounts of $100 or more from all the big brands, like Shark, Bissell and Dyson — plus major deals on robot vacs. What I'd wait on are towels and sheets. While you can find some great deals on Prime Day, most brands will drop prices even further in January during "white sales." Now is a smart time to stock up on smaller kitchen appliances, like air fryers, food processors and immersion blenders for less. (When it comes to larger appliances, like refrigerators and dishwashers, you'll want to wait until Black Friday if you can.) Need some new cookware? You can also find deals on pots, pans and knife sets, but make sure the discounts are really substantial if you're going to purchase now, as practically every big brand will have serious sales come November. And with holiday travel right around the corner, I'd look for deals on travel tech and accessories — portable chargers, AirTags, charging cables and noise-cancelling headphones are much cheaper on sale than at the airport when you realize you need them. Laptops and TVs can absolutely be worth buying too, but check the price history — with Black Friday less than two months away, you don't need to jump on a mediocre deal. On that note, my advice is to grab a good barrier-repair serum and some rich eye cream while it's on sale. Also, keep an eye on Amazon's Premium Beauty shop, where brands that rarely go on sale tend to show up with impressive discounts — some even up to 30%!
