Deoghar police arrest two brothers for posing as e-commerce and digital payment customer care to cheat victims; phones and SIMs seized, probe ongoing.
Dumka: Two brothers of Jara village in Deoghar district was arrested from their village on Saturday on charges of cheating people by posing as customer care representatives of e-commerce and digital payment platform officials, police said.The accused, Dhananjay Yadav (37) and Sanjay Yadav (32), were produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody. Three mobile phones and three SIM cards were seized from them, police added.“Acting on inputs received that miscreants were cheating unsuspecting individuals in the Patharddah outpost area, Deoghar SP Praveen Pushkar formed a team, which conducted raids and arrested the two accused,” DSP (Cyber) Kailash Prasad Mahato said.Preliminary and technical examination of the seized devices indicated links to cyber fraud complaints lodged in different states against the mobile and IMEI numbers.
