AEW Grand Slam France results, grades: Will Ospreay fends off Kazuchika Okada atop stacked show

AEW Grand Slam France went down on this Tuesday, Oct. 6, as the promotion made its first stop in Paris for a special mega-show. Fans inside Adidas Arena were treated to a loaded lineup of four championship matches. Although no titles changed hands, every match had something to like.Rain StopperWill Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada unsurprisingly shined in one hell of a main event for the AEW World Championship. Both men felt like the champions they are — not only in presentation, but in performance. In the end, Ospreay got the job done with his patented Hidden Blade after surviving two Rainmakers. Okada's greed ultimately cost him when going for a third, which was countered by a short Hidden Blade in tight before the final unpadded blow..@WillOspreay empties the tank to put @rainmakerXokada away and retain the AEW World Title!Watch #AEWGrandSlam France on TBS + HBO Max! pic.twitter.com/f5D4vP3dNm— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) October 7, 2026 After using the finisher to kick off his title reign, it feels pretty clear what AEW is doing with Ospreay and the Hidden Blade: It's being turned into his version of the One-Winged Angel. What I mean by that is, it's his automatic victory — specifically when he removes the elbow pad to land it. No one has ever kicked out of it, and seeing Ospreay stop a match off that single shot gives off that same feel as Kenny Omega's iconic match-ender, whether or not that truly is the booking intention. So kudos to Ospreay and the booking he's had to reach this point with a finisher. All in all, Ospreay and Okada made some magic tonight, and the International Champion felt like he may actually pull it off. If only he didn't go for that third Rainmaker. The Rainmaker isn’t enough to put @WillOspreay away!Watch #AEWGrandSlam France on TBS + HBO Max! pic.twitter.com/VpNy1ONWpb— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) October 7, 2026 Next, Ospreay has to worry about Clockwork Carnage at AEW WrestleDream 2026 next Saturday: The new multi-person stipulation match he brought to the company.Coffins and towersBelieve it or not, Darby Allin did not jump off the Eiffel Tower to defend his TNT Title against Kyle Fletcher in Paris. (I know, I'm just as surprised as you are.)This match was immediate chaos, as one can always expect from either man. And it was our lone bloodbath of the night, but only near the end, after Allin was spiked onto the exposed top turnbuckle with a hellacious Brainbuster. A Scorpion Death Lock followed by a pair of Coffin Drops got the job done for Allin, sending Fletcher on his way to challenge The Young Bucks for tag-team gold alongside Kevin Knight at WrestleDream. That's if the Bucks get through The Dogs on Saturday at AEW Grand Slam France, Night 2..@DarbyAllin may be FINISHED 😳Watch #AEWGrandSlam France on TBS + HBO Max! pic.twitter.com/dmZJLr1zlb— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) October 7, 2026.@kylefletcherpro has the TNT Champion in trouble, and “The Protostar” closes in!Watch #AEWGrandSlam France on TBS + HBO Max! pic.twitter.com/aLrQUu15Bh— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) October 7, 2026 May the series continueBandido kept the ROH World Title by besting Kofi to start the night. Really, every match we see of Kofi in AEW with a new face just feels so bizarre. The near-20 years in WWE are still rubbing off of the guy.Nonetheless, they put on a fine match that was nothing more than a tablesetter for the final chapter in The New Level's trios title saga with Brodido and "Hangman" Adam Page. Later in the night, it was revealed that New Level and Swerve Strickland will defend against the former champions one more time in a Two-Out-Of-Three Falls match at WrestleDream.Chaos erupts at ringside as @Bandidowrestler puts @TrueKofi away to retain the ROH World Title!Watch #AEWGrandSlam France on TBS + HBO Max! pic.twitter.com/l5h17yDdx1— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) October 7, 2026 Judging by their last match, this upcoming one should be even more chaotic, and it's safe to say we're headed toward a stronger continuation of the Strickland and Page feud. They couldn't take their eyes off each other ringside. A true rivalry made in Hell.👑 Uncrowned Gem of the Night 👑Anytime a professional wrestling show is in Paris, the crowd is almost always the Uncrowned Gem of the Night. That was true again tonight, as the French faithful got loud just from the graphics shown to start the show. Then there was the start of the main event. My word, what a scene.MY AEW GLORIOUSSSSSS#AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/H8HlED78QM— Sebas ──★ セバスチャン──★ (@Sebas_Bucks) October 7, 2026 Knowing how French fans typically are, it was no surprise they showed up and showed out again for AEW's first appearance in the country.AEW Grand Slam France was a high-paced showcase of wrestling action that knew only one speed. There weren't any surprising outcomes, but it was a fun time. I give it a crown score of: 8/10 👑AEW Grand Slam France full card results and match grades:AEW World Championship: Will Ospreay (c.) def.
