"WWE SmackDown" was in Ontario, with two title matches and a street fight. Here are the full results, grades and highlights.
"WWE SmackDown" was in Ontario, Canada on Friday, with two title matches and a street fight. Gold changed hands in one match, but it ultimately raised more questions than answers.A disaster of richesOutside of the men's tag-team match that never really happened, tonight's "SmackDown" could have been a great show. Instead, it missed the mark on virtually every front. So, we're going to do something a little different tonight: Our best rapid-fire paper-wad-throwing into the flaming trash bin, if you will.Green light to nowhere. Listen, I'm all for Chelsea Green winning. It's overdue for the champion to win matches. What a concept, right? But if you're going to do this Roxanne Perez title match, why have Perez lose? So The Judgment Day can continue forever? To let Tiffany Stratton repeat the exact same story she did with her first Money in the Bank cash-in? The answers appear to be yes to both after the tease that following an expectedly overbooked match. And neither are exciting. To make the booking around the Women's Championship all the more absurd, Nikki Bella — who lost to Paige last week — will challenge Green for the title next week. It's almost as if WWE intentionally tried to make tonight's show bad..@RaquelWWE and @roxanne_wwe were NOT letting that happen 😤 pic.twitter.com/hNbJhTLzci— WWE (@WWE) October 24, 2026 Fun while it lasted. Well, at least I get to say I interviewed Tatum Paxley while she was a champion for two whole weeks. She and Alexa Bliss lost the Women's Tag Team titles tonight. In their first defense. Against B-Fab & Michin. With interference from Jade Cargill. Paxley took the pin. It seems nothing was learned from Sol Ruca's main roster start on "Raw," because this decision reeked of that situation, which is horrific for Paxley. She'll likely be fine in the end, but Fatal Influence dropping the titles made it all meaningless. What was the point of Paxley and Bliss holding the titles? So Paxley and Charlotte Flair can win them? I don't know, but it's dumb and damaging to everyone involved — except the people who never should have become a stable in the first place and now hold the titles.NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPS! @MiaYim and @TheVibeBri got some new gold 🏆 pic.twitter.com/PmxzL18up0— WWE (@WWE) October 24, 2026 Sleep fight. Somehow, Blake Monroe and Giulia managed to deliver the most boring "Street Fight" match of all time. While impressive, it must be clarified that it's not entirely their fault. Outside of a suplex-onto-the-chairs spot, the crowd was dead for this match. That was the case for the whole show, really. Randy Orton was the only one who really got Ontario moving. With Monroe, we're in a tough spot where suspension of disbelief is almost impossible, given the violent work she did in AEW. In this match, Giulia threw her into a mirror — glass — and there wasn't a single cut on her. No blood. Nothing. We're all for safety, but it's so unrealistic that it's silly. The whole effect is diminished at that point. It was just a slow match that felt like a playground tussle, hopefully moving Monroe onward. Unfortunately, hope has been lost for Giulia.Quick mirror break...literally! 😬 pic.twitter.com/C1GOx0QFAs— WWE (@WWE) October 24, 2026 False advertisement. I'm trying to keep this short, and I don't even know where to begin. U.S. Champion Trick Williams is fully going after Sami Zayn now (again), and will challenge for Zayn's world title next week. Before that, however, a completely random match between Williams and Rey Fenix against Zayn and Johnny Gargano was set up for tonight's main event. Still, no one cares about reviving the Williams-Zayn feud after how awful it got toward the end. But tonight's tag match never even really happened, as Ricky Saints ended it almost immediately with an attack on Fenix to bring in Penta for a trios match. There was no reason they couldn't have just set that up in the opening segment instead of the tag match. Unless Penta is secretly the dumbest human on the planet, no one thought he was cashing in while Zayn, Gargano and Saints were beating down his brother and Williams..@PENTAELZEROM has entered the chat! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/sCD3sYReR2— WWE (@WWE) October 24, 2026 More false advertisement. Unlike the Zayn business, WWE actually posted pre-show that The MFTs would take on Bakusai in a non-title match. What actually happened was a brawl in the rampway that not a soul gave a damn about. It is depressing how quickly WWE has reduced its entire tag division into irrelevancy. There is less than zero reason to care about any of this, and the teams aren't even good. I'm not sure what would've been worse: Actually getting the match or what transpired instead. This is nothing but CHAOS 😱 pic.twitter.com/y5ivxACiR9— WWE (@WWE) October 24, 2026 Beefin'. The lone bright spots on this show came from all the most experienced, biggest stars available. Who would have thought? Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, CM Punk and Kevin Owens all delivered pretty solid interactions that got you interested in seeing them again. With the latter, it was a bit of a corny exchange, like two middle-schoolers trying to insult each other. But Orton and Rhodes hyping up their Last Man Standing match at Crown Jewel was everything you'd expect. Will @CMPunk and @FightOwensFight finally settle the score in TWO WEEKS in Brooklyn?! 🤔 pic.twitter.com/u2ygaeK78p— WWE (@WWE) October 24, 2026 Gone missing. Have you heard of Gunther or Finn Balor? You know, roster staples who've been around for years. Two guys recently involved in world title pictures. They've been feuding with each other, somewhat in the background of their title pursuits. Yet they were nowhere to be seen tonight. How the mighty fall.Unlike on "Raw," it's at least nice to see stars and champions actually wrestle on a weekly show.
