WWE Raw results, grades (Sept. 7): Liv Morgan survives Stephanie Vaquer; Bloodline gets set ablaze

"WWE Raw" was in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Legacy Arena on Monday. After Sunday Night's Main Event’s showcase, not much progression occurred down south.Judgment DecadeDetermining where to start with tonight’s "Raw" is difficult. It was largely chaotic in a messier way than it was productive. But, in the end, Liv Morgan stood tall once again over Stephanie Vaquer as Women’s World Champion. After a better match than their WrestleMania encounter, though, it ended the same as every Judgment Day match ever: With a lazy and nonsensically tired interference finish.Words can no longer describe how beyond over this we are.WOW 🤯@YaOnlyLivvOnce takes advantage of the chaos at ringside and RETAINS the Women's World Title! pic.twitter.com/Q2AakLqnRI— WWE (@WWE) September 8, 2026 While an interference finish wasn't surprising, Morgan retaining the Women's World Title was. WWE is set to embark on a South American tour in the coming weeks, which includes a stop through Vaquer's home of Chile. So, you would’ve thought she'd be holding gold on home soil, but perhaps we can still see that with her getting redemption in some form in a home game rather than before it.Somehow, Becky Lynch will be involved, too, as WWE heavily teased her helping Vaquer win in a pre-match encounter with Morgan. Instead, Lynch chased off the wrong stable member, which ultimately allowed for Morgan to capitalize.Tonight was only the second defense of Morgan's dreadful title reign since April, when she first won the strap. That doesn't mean that it shouldn't still dissolve, though.The combination of these five characters realistically is doing nothing but hurting everyone involved, minus maybe Paul, who is what he is at this stage. But regarding Theory, he's the chump of this group, and it's essentially been on full display since shortly after he joined. In recent appearances, he's taking all the damage or struggling to beat jobbers like Otis — whom he technically didn't beat Monday night, as Reed gave Otis a DQ win over Theory by interfering and attacking Otis. No one believes they're on the same level, as we're supposed to, when Breakker literally needed Reed's help two nights in a row to take out Femi.The byproduct of that is also making Femi look slightly weaker after what we saw him endure against Lesnar. The layers WWE has attempted to build between all of these pieces are not cohesive anymore — if they ever were. From a freshness perspective, it would’ve been amazing to see Bayley leave WWE for AEW. That could very well still happen, as she hasn't been confirmed to have re-signed yet, but keeping her tied to Valkyria is no longer interesting. We've seen them together enough now and what more they can do is beyond me.On top of that, Valkyria was refreshed with her heel turn that came at the expense of Bayley. The win over Bayley is all she's had since, displaying a terrible misstep with someone who should have been in — if not won — the women's Money In the Bank match. And the winner Monday night, Ruca, should have been in the match, too. Everything involving the Bloodline felt entirely delayed because of it.The Usos were teasing hunting down OTM and Royce Keys — now named 946 — all night while Jacob Fatu told them to slow their role. Then, at the end of the night, 946 presumably beat up security guards outside before lighting the Bloodline's car on fire.It felt like something that was supposed to have a similar effect to the famous burning of Swerve Strickland's house in AEW. It absolutely did not, though, and fell entirely flat as a show-closing angle. The Birmingham crowd was absolutely awful. Like, we're talking worst-of-the-year-caliber. There were big moments in the title match when the fans were dead silent on the near-falls. It was just lifeless in that arena.Celebrity Era, Part 2. Some dude named Matt Matthews was in the crowd and received a brief interview before he was beat up by The Miz and Kit Wilson — then Breakker too, once he arrived for his match. Not a soul in the world asked for this.
