AAA TripleMania 34 Night 2 results, grades: El Grande Americano sets off a party, dethrones Dominik Mysterio

AAA TripleMania 34 Night 2 closed out the jam-packed combat sports weekend on Sunday night at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. After a Night 1 on Friday that set the tone for Sunday's festivities, the show culminated in the only way it could have: With El Grande Americano standing tall.Already one of the best success stories of the year in professional wrestling, if not the best, Americano once again overcame the odds to dethrone long-reigning AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio in their "No DQ" title match main event.The match had just about everything it should've for Americano's coronation — excluding his key rival, Chad Gable — as this was largely an overbooked chaos-fest that truly felt like AAA's attempt at having its own Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns ending from WrestleMania 40. The latter has truly become the ultimate star in Mexico, making it feel like we'll probably never see Ludwig Kaiser again. (But realistically, the next time we do, Kaiser should be treated as one of the biggest deals in wrestling. It's worked so far for the aforementioned Gable. It was far from sniffing the quality of Fenix's title defense of Americano's win, but it was fun and delivered some thoroughly entertaining moments. Above all, though, it showcased that WWE and/or AEW should arguably adopt this idea in its entirety. A Battle Royal of any size that includes pin and submission eliminations is a really great idea that doesn't render many finishers useless in an over-the-top-rope match.
