Brewers vs. Rays live updates, World Series lineups, where to watch: Brewers one win from first championship in franchise history
The Brewers can sweep the Rays in the World Series with a win Tuesday.
The Tampa Bay Rays have dug themselves into a deep, deep hole heading into Game 4 of the 2026 World Series, as the Milwaukee Brewers hold a 3-0 series lead and are one win from the first championship in franchise history. A win would also make Milwaukee the first team to sweep the World Series since the 2012 San Francisco Giants and the first to sweep both the League Championship Series and the World Series since the LCS became a best-of-seven in 1985.First pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET Tuesday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Brewers continued their dismantling of the Rays with a 10-1 win in Game 3 on Monday. Starting pitcher Robert Gasser allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings, facing the minimum, and Milwaukee broke it open with an eight-run fifth inning to take a 10-0 lead. By the time Tampa Bay got on the board in the ninth, the damage had long been done.In Game 4, the Brewers will hand the ball to right-hander Dustin May (7-9, 4.70 ERA) with a chance to clinch. May's last start came in Milwaukee's lone loss this postseason, Game 3 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, in which he allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 3 over 3 innings. The Rays will counter with right-hander Griffin Jax (8-10, 3.53 ERA) with their season on the line. He'll hope to improve on his previous start against the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS, in which he allowed 5 hits and 3 earned runs over 4 innings, including the go-ahead, two-run homer by Petey Halpin. Jax has a 6.00 ERA in six innings this postseason, including two in relief against the New York Yankees in the ALDS.Follow along with Yahoo Sports for live updates, highlights and more as the Rays host the Brewers in Game 4 of the World Series.
