It’s been a busy month for Apple. In addition to releasing a folding iPhone Duo and a suite of new home products , the Cupertino company has just announced a number of new or improved computers and tablets. These range from the world’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro (with a PROLED XDR display, no less) to the first iPad mini with an OLED display, among others. All of these new items are up for preorder at various retailers ( see them at Amazon ). Let’s take a closer look.

All told, Apple has four new items up for preorder, some of which come in various size options. They all release on November 6.

You guys, this is huge: Apple has invented the touchscreen laptop. I jest, but it is a somewhat momentous occasion. After refusing for years to add touchscreen capabilities to its laptop lineup, Apple has finally introduced a MacBook Pro with what it’s calling a PROLED XDR display. It’s a gorgeous OLED display that brings touch to MacOS for the first time. That means you can do things like swipe to scroll, tap to close or maximize apps, and pinch to zoom, just like on an iPad. It also has an iPhone-like Dynamic Island at the top of the screen, instead of a notch.

The new MacBook Pro is available in 14” and 16” models with either an M5 Pro or M5 Max chip. Prices range from $2899 to (I kid you not) $14,549 if you fully spec it out at Apple. This is also the first MacBook in years to have a glowing Apple logo, which is pretty exciting for longtime MacBook users.

The new iPad mini is the first time the mini has gotten an OLED display, which is pretty great. It’s run by the powerful new A20 Pro chip, which is the same chip found in the new iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. It has a nicely sized 8.5” display, along with Apple Pencil compatibility. The front-facing camera has also been moved to the long side of the iPad, matching the other current models. It starts at $699 and is out on November 6.

Let’s say you want a new MacBook Pro, but you don’t particularly want or need a touchscreen. In that case, you can get this 2026 spec bump that gives the baseline MacBook Pro a new M6 chip. Aside from that change, it’s just about the same as the previous model it replaces.

Those who like Apple’s slick, all-in-one desktop computer can also get a spec-bumped iMac. This year’s model comes with the new M6 chip, plus 16GB unified memory, and 256GB of storage to start. It comes in an array of color options (the same colors available since the 2021 iMac redesign), and it starts at $1499. Like the other new devices, it’s out on November 6.

As mentioned above, in addition to these new just-announced products, Apple recently put a slew of other items up for preorder, most of which don't actually come out until November 13. And Amazon is offering small discounts on some of them.
