Yelich's huge two-run hit gives Brewers lead, drives out Yamamoto
After Jake Bauers worked a 12-pitch walk to load the bases, Christian Yelich hit a two-run single to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead in the third inning.
What a third inning and what a moment for the Milwaukee Brewers .
After falling behind the Los Angeles Dodgers , 2-1, in the top of the inning, they took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom with a big hit from their captain.
Christian Yelich hit a two-out single with the bases loaded to drive in two runs and drive Dodgers starter Yoshi Yamamoto out of the game. Yamamoto threw 36 pitches in the inning alone and finished with 75.
Yelich got the glory but the absolute star of the inning was Jake Bauers, who worked a 12-pitch walk that seemed to build with every delivery.
A couple were pop-ups that Dodgers defenders couldn't quite chase down in foul territory, and Bauers wound up getting on base to load them up.
It's the most pitches Yamamoto has thrown in any MLB appearance in his career.

To start the inning, David Hamilton singled, Jackson Chourio flew out, Brice Turang walked – despite another pitch that would have been strike three if the Dodgers had asked for an ABS replay – and William Contreras flew out. All the at-bats were lengthy.
That brought up Bauers, followed by Yelich, who didn't have a single playoff RBI dating to Game 7 of the 2018 series before getting three now this year.
