Leaker Posts Extended Gameplay From GTA 6 Prologue Just Hours After Rockstar Warns Fans to Expect Story Spoilers

Extended gameplay footage revealing Grand Theft Auto 6's story prologue has been posted online, in a significant escalation of the past week's continued leaks.

More than four minutes of gameplay featuring GTA 6 character Lucia is now being spread over social media, in the first lengthy leak of footage that reveals key story details. If you are planning to try and experience GTA 6 with no narrative spoilers, now is the time to beware where you click online over the coming days and weeks.

The footage's release comes just hours after Rockstar finally broke its silence over the leaks , which it called "heartbreaking" for its development team. In its statement, published online earlier today, the developer warned fans that spoilers would likely impact the manner in which it had hoped players would first experience the game — something that now appears to accurate.

A fresh statement from the leaker, included as a watermark in this latest footage, makes several unsubtantiated claims about GTA 6's development, such as the game still being unfinished and that there was "too much" work left on the game to comfortably complete it before the title's November 19 release date.

Earlier today, Rockstar noted that it was indeed still working on the game — something that is fully to be expected with nearly three months left to go until launch — but that it was now "nearly" finished. The company also reiterated GTA 6's November 19 launch date, suggesting confidence that nothing would change.

The leaker has also claimed to have a "recent" build of the game, something that is again impossible to verify. However, there is now little doubt that these leaks stem from a polished playable build. Exactly how the leaker has gained access to it remains a mystery, but one which Rockstar and GTA publisher Take-Two are actively taking steps to ascertain .

Finally, the leaker once again called for "support" in the form of their own cryptocurrency, something that has been widely seen as a money-making exercise . Perhaps signalling that their leaking days may be winding down, the leaker suggested that "trading volume/price" of the $Cyberleek currency would determine whether the posting of footage will continue.

The past week has seen more than a dozen gameplay clips appear online , causing significant damage from a Rockstar perspective as numerous sections of GTA 6's world have now been revealed. According to Bloomberg , Rockstar has been left scrambling to discover how these leaks happened and who is behind them, as they have continued now for the past week.

Former Rockstar Games technical director Obbe Vermeij, however, has downplayed the damage caused by the leaks . Vermeij, who worked at Rockstar North from 1995 to 2009, took to social media to say that the company has weathered worse in the past, such as the Hot Coffee scandal.
