The New Hauntingly Twisted LEGO Mayor Manor Set Gets a Surprise First Discount at Walmart

Spooky season is just around the corner, and one of the latest LEGO Halloween sets is already getting a discount. Walmart's Bricktember Sale is bringing the first price cut on the hauntingly twisted Mayor Manor set today.

Mayor Manor is part of a new line of creepy sets called the Midnight Valley Collection. It's basically a haunted house with oddly angled architecture and glow-in-the-dark minifigures. Seeing as it just came out on September 1 , the fact that it's already getting a discount at Walmart is a very welcome surprise.

I am personally a big fan of LEGO's Architecture line of sets, so this particular build really appeals to me. Mostly because of the amount of thought that seems to have gone into making it feel haunted. LEGO bricks, by design, are usually perfectly aligned with each other. But the Mayor Manor utilizes its bricks in such a way that everything looks just a little bit crooked. It gives the mansion a rather haunted look without having to resort to things like boarded up windows or a crumbling façade.

The Mayor Manor is also designated as an 18+ set , so it's meant for adults to build and display. At just over 1,400 pieces, it's decently sized and comes with a ton of little details inside and outside of the house. In addition to the spooky exterior, you get to build the gothic decor of the inside of the home as well. All-in-all, it's an excellent display piece for Halloween with some cool surprises for anone who gets to build it. You also get three glow-in-the-dark minifigures, a cat, and a rat that you can display anywhere on the set.

Some of the best Labor Day sales right now are on spooky-themed LEGO sets. I wrote earlier this week about the 3-in-1 Haunted Mansion set that dropped to a new low price , and that set is still on sale now. It isn't nearly as magnificent as the Mayor Manor set, but it does offer alternate builds like the Haunted Train and Haunted Ship that make it cool to put together. Since it isn't an 18+ set, it's also a little bit easier to build.

The other discount that dropped recently is on the popular Nightmare Before Christmas set . This build is based on Tim Burton's classic stop-motion film featuring Jack Skellington as he discovers the joys of Christmas. This is the first major price drop this set has received and it's absolutely worth picking up if your a fan of the movie.
