Phantom Edges serve a dual purpose in Phantom Blade 0. First and foremost, they are additional weapons in your arsenal that take up their own unique slot. They complement your main weaponry by providing more specific use cases. For instance, the Dread Axe is a powerful hauling axe that can break through shields quite easily, while the Bow provides some ranged offense when you're in a pinch.
Phantom Edges also serve as the game's way of unlocking progression. As you unlock more Phantom Edges, you'll be able to access more of the map by breaking down walls, swinging over chasms or gaps, or even knocking hanging resources down.
There are plenty of ways to experiment with Phantom Edges and which ones fit your current build. Just like with weapons, you can revert any materials, and Remnant Dust spent upgrading your Phantom Edges free of charge up to level 10. After that, you'll need to use a Phantom Reforge Talisman to fully refund all of your used resources to spend on a different Phantom Edge. We recommend trying them all out and seeing which ones you like the best.
