Pat Murphy gives perfect reaction after Brewers’ dramatic Game 2 victory over Padres

Pat Murphy and the Milwaukee Brewers gave its home crowd another reason to celebrate Sunday afternoon, rallying past the San Diego Padres in a dramatic Game 2 finish. The victory put the Brewers in control of the NLDS and gave them an opportunity to complete the sweep when the series moves to San Diego for Game 3.

Jackson Chourio came through with the biggest swing of the afternoon for Milwaukee. With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, Chourio lined his second hit of the series and brought two runners home , lifting the Brewers to a 2 0 advantage in the NLDS.

Murphy summed up the wild afternoon perfectly after the game. Speaking with MLB.com reporter Adam McCalvy, the Brewers manager offered a simple reaction to Milwaukee's dramatic victory.

"That was fun, wasn't it?" commented the Brewers manager.

Milwaukee had to battle from behind after the Padres grabbed an early advantage, but the Brewers gave themselves a chance by putting runners on every base in the ninth. Jackson Chourio then came through with the game on the line, delivering the decisive hit to give Milwaukee another dramatic postseason win.

San Diego had entered the series with plenty of confidence after closing the regular season well and sweeping the Chicago Cubs in the Wild Card Series, where the Padres surrendered only one run over two games at home.

The Padres now face a must win situation when they host Milwaukee on Tuesday night for Game 3. San Diego needs a complete performance to keep its season alive, while the Brewers have an opportunity to finish the series and advance with another victory. With both teams facing major stakes, Game 3 should carry plenty of intensity.
