The Batman Part 2 director Matt Reeves has done his part to celebrate Batman Day by sharing a new image from the movie.

Another September means another Batman Day, and while we're still years away from seeing Robert Pattinson reprise his role as the Caped Crusader, that isn't stopping DC Studios from celebrating. Reeves did his part to get in on the festivities by ending another months-long social media hiatus with an ominous picture from the set of The Batman Part 2 in London.

If you've seen 2022's The Batman, you'll be happy to know even this early image from the movie teases a film that will feel right at home in the saga. What we see here appears to be the back of Pattinson's Bruce Wayne as he looks ahead into what seems to be a forest-y area. We can only really see his silhouette, but it's at least yet another confirmation that The Batman Part 2 will take place in and around the snow.

"Happy Batman Day to everyone from London!" Reeves said in his post.

Is there much we can confidently say this image reveals about the plot of Reeves' new movie? Well, no, but fans are still using the holiday as an opportunity to comb through every pixel of The Batman Part 2 image in hopes of deciphering any details about its plot and characters.

One rumored villain that has stuck in the years it's taken to get The Batman sequel into theaters revolves around Gotham's secret collection of evil elites, The Court of Owls. Recently leaked set photos only stoked those flames , with fans saying that, even if there aren't any owls to be found in the new set image, they're still looking for them.

Another theory circling the new Batman image has fans arguing about the area the Dark Knight is surrounded by. Some think trees, others see smoke, and some see cars. Popular The Batman Part 2 fan account @TheBatmanSagaNW believes the setting we see here is a junkyard filled with piled-up vehicles. If that's true, it could potentially be linked to another previous rumor regarding a junkyard that will show up in the movie. IGN tweaked the image's brightness and was able to make out a location that does resemble what we'd imagine a snowy Gotham junkyard to look like.

It's hard to make too much out right now, and with nearly a year and a half to go before the film's release and no sign of any trailers, it will likely be a while before we learn how Reeves' set image fits into place. Following some delays, The Batman Part 2 is currently scheduled to swoop into theaters February 18, 2028.
