The Yankees dropped Game 1 of the ALDS against the Rays. Will the New York bounce back and avoid an 0-2 hole tonight? How to watch and our prediction.

Very little went right for the Yankees in their 1-0 loss against the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the ALDS.

The Yankees offense without captain and three-time AL MVP Aaron Judge were no-hit for 7 2/3 innings by Rays' Drew Rasmussen, with their lone hit on the night being a two-out, Austin Wells double that ended the inning after the Yankees' catcher made the third out at third base attempting to stretch his hit to a triple.

Needing a win to avoid an 0-2 hole heading back to the Bronx, the Yankees' are sending their ace in AL Cy Young award front-runner Cam Schlittler to the mound.

Yankees open ALDS with Game 1 showdown against Rays

Schlittler was dominant yet against the Boston Red Sox in the playoffs, as the 25-year-old flamethrower pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts and surrendered only three baserunners in the Yankees' 9-0 win over Boston in Game 1 of the AL Wild Card round.

New York will need Schlittler to have another Cy Young-type performance in order to even this series heading to Yankee Stadium.

Will Yankees even ALDS vs Rays? Our Game 2 prediction

This is a must-win game for New York. If the Yankees were to lose tonight, they'd have to beat the Rays three consecutive games, a feat that hasn't happened to Tampa Bay since late August. Furthermore, the Red Sox were the last team to beat the Rays three or more games in a row when they swept Tampa Bay in a four-game series at Fenway Park following the All-Star Break in mid-July.

That's not the case here as Schlittler is dominant yet again, giving up only one run in seven innings while the Yankees' offense shows some life and does just enough as this ALDS is tied heading back to New York on Wednesday night.
