An extended look at the gameplay for Grand Theft Auto VI was released by Netflix on Thursday.

New Grand Theft Auto game leaks confirmed

The new presentation for the upcoming video game featured 26 minutes of in-game footage on PlayStation 5.

GTA VI is set to release for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on Nov. 19.

It represents the eighth installment of the video game series and the first release since Grand Theft Auto V dropped in 2013.

Rob Nelson, co-studio head of Rockstar North, revealed that the map in GTA VI shares similarities to Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 .

"There is a whole other world in Red Dead Redemption 2 , yes. GTA 6 is very much like that," Nelson said, per IGN's Simon Cardy . "There's a whole lot of stuff that you discover emergently that we're not necessarily directing you to through objectives or blips or icons on a map as well. If you take a bit of time and explore you will be rewarded – a lot. It's a big map, a very big map."

The game's NPC system also marks a step forward from Red Dead Redemption 2 .

"This NPC interaction system is one that is returning and evolved from Red Dead Redemption 2 ," Nelson told IGN's Rachel Weber . "In the past, we've had systems where you can speak to NPCs, in Red Dead Redemption 1 and GTA 5 there were basic systems for interacting, but the interactions were very simple. But with Red Dead Redemption 2 , we were finally able to incorporate the ability to interact with NPCs as a more fleshed-out system."

GTA VI main characters Jason and Lucia are on the run in the game and must make money outside of the story missions (h/t Christopher Byrd of the New York Times ). Outside of the criminal activities that the games are known for, they can do so by racing monster trucks, scuba diving for treasure and playing pool.

Thursday's extended look also showcased scenes in the game including stock-car racing, skydiving, bayou boating, kayaking and nightclub dancing.
