Magic: The Gathering's next Marvel crossover set has been revealed , as Wizards of the Coast announced that "Marvel: Darkhold Destiny" will launch on April 9, 2027.

Preorders are now available via local game stores, TCGplayer , Amazon , and other retailers. I'll leave links to where you can buy everything just below.

"The world's greatest sorcerers conspired to keep the Darkhold sealed," Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) said in its announcement, as part of New York Comic Con. "But the dark side of the Marvel Universe has been unleashed!"

It also teased the arrival of "devils, sorcerers, and vampire-hunting vampires" in the upcoming set, which will of course explore the supernatural side of Marvel.

An original story has been developed for the new set, with WOTC developing in collaboration with Marvel, which will also introduce a brand-new original character. The story will also be adapted into a special Marvel Comics release, written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly.

"This story was crafted by our Narrative team with Magic in mind, and we're thrilled to see it adapted by two of Marvel's most beloved writers," added WOTC.

"You'll be able to follow this dimension-hopping narrative across the set, all while uncovering the secrets of the Dark Dimension and joining forces with Marvel's pantheon of gods."

The comic is due to arrive in February 2027 in digital format, followed by a physical release in April.

Magik, a mutant sorceress who many fans will also recognize from Marvel Rivals ' roster, or more recently Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls , is the only hero confirmed for the set so far.

But WOTC has also said that the expansion will feature plenty more "hotly anticipated" Marvel heroes and villains making their MTG debuts.

Marvel: Darkhold Destiny will include the main card set, Commander decks, Scene Boxes, and special collector-focused card designs.

The Commander precon options this time around are Lords of Hel (red-black), Gods of Asgard (red-green-white), Strange Academy (white-blue-black) and Midnight Sons (white-black).

WOTC says it has also developed new "Booster Fun treatments" for the expansion, alongside updated versions of designs used in previous releases, "so collectors of everything Marvel will have plenty to get excited for".

Darkhold Destiny is one of the latest collaborations between Marvel and Magic: The Gathering, which has been increasingly drawing established entertainment franchises to the TCG through its Universes Beyond range.

In 2025, we saw the Marvel Spider-Man set , and in 2026, we got the Marvel Super Heroes expansion as well.

Now in 2027, Darkhold Destiny continues the longstanding collaboration between the entertainment giants.
