The distance between getting the Hunter's Chain Sickle and the Iron Gauntlets is pretty drastic, so don't be alarmed when you haven't picked up a new Phantom Edge just yet. The Iron Gauntlets pack a strong punch with a base damage of 261 and base Guard Break of 223. They have incredibly high Shield-Breaking power that rivals the Dread Axe.
They do not have a use outside of combat.
How to get the Iron Gauntlets in Phantom Blade 0
You'll get the Iron Gauntlets in Phantom Blade 0 by defeating Stone Hand Iron Fever in the Crimson Forest. This is part of the main story questline, so you won't miss out on getting the Iron Gauntlets if you progress naturally through the zone. Upon defeating the Stone Hand Iron Fever, the Iron Gauntlets will be automatically given to you.
The Iron Gauntlets ability reads as follows: Press R2 repeatedly to perform up to 3 fist attacks. A full combo consumes 1 Remnant Spark.
Fist Focus: Each attack with the Iron Gauntlets builds Fist Focus, increasing all damage dealt by the main weapon for 8 seconds.
So when you use the Iron Gauntlets in battle, you'll want to go all in on them, repeatedly using your combo to get the maximum amount of potential damage out of them. So ensure you're using it when you have a good opening on an enemy or boss.
You can upgrade the Iron Gauntlets to increase the damage and Guard Break using various materials found around Phantom Blade 0. Below, you can find a table that shows everything you get for upgrading the Iron Gauntlets
