What Are Fairy Thoughts - Explained - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Guide - IGN

Fairy Thoughts are a new feature unique to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. They appear as small glowing letters on surfaces all across the game. Examine them to have Navi read them. Fairy Thoughts are sometimes hints about your surroundings, and other times they are a puzzle that, when solved, fully restores Link's health.

See IGN's guide on Fairy Thoughts below:

Fairy Thoughts are represented by a small glowing symbol that sort of looks like a cloud, as seen in the image above.

Navi explains that these are sentiments left behind by fairies who discovered something secret. She can read the message and pass it on to Link.

This Fairy Thought is found in Lon Lon Ranch, on the back side of the barn, but there are dozens to be found all across the game. Sometimes they are hints about something nearby, other times they are a puzzle that, when solved, restores Link's health. This one in Lon Lon Ranch seems to be hinting at the importance of Malon's song, which of course leads you to learn Epona's Song.
