Dodgers’ Next Playoff Opponent Revealed
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS, and now they've learned who they'll face next.
The Los Angeles Dodgers downed the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Wednesday , locking up a spot in the National League Championship Series in the process.
So who will the Dodgers face next? The other NLDS is over as well, so we have an answer.
With their win on Wednesday night, the Milwaukee Brewers are moving on to face the Dodgers.
The Brewers closed out a 3-1 series win at Petco Park in San Diego, and as the top seed in the National League, they'll host the first two games of the NLCS.
The Dodgers and Brewers split the regular season with four victories apiece, but when it matters most, the Dodgers have had the edge.
In last year's NLCS, the Dodgers swept the Brewers in four games, including a huge performance from Shohei Ohtani in Game 4 .
Not only did he throw six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, but he hit three monster home runs.
This Brewers team, though, is led by Jacob Misiorowski, the hard-throwing righty who routinely tops 104 mph.
He's also the presumptive winner of the NL Cy Young Award, an honor coveted by Dodgers superstar Ohtani.
Ohtani hasn't been playing great these playoffs, but perhaps that will fuel his fire and bring out his best against the Brewers
Game 1 of the NLCS is set for Sunday, Oct. 11.
The time for first pitch hasn't yet been announced.
The Dodgers' starting pitcher also hasn't been announced yet, but given that newly acquired superstar Tarik Skubal started Game 1 of the NLDS, it seems likely that he could take the mound first again.
That said, Yoshinobu Yamamoto started Game 3 for the Dodgers on Tuesday, giving him five days' rest for Sunday if manager Dave Roberts wants to go that route instead.
Who do you want to see start Game 1 for the Dodgers? Are you excited to be facing off with the Brewers again with a pennant on the line?
