After taking shelter from the storm during Survivors , our Modern Warfare 4 campaign guide picks up with Stranded, the game's tenth mission. Compared to previous missions, this is an open-ended sandbox area with dozens of collectibles to find if you're looking to fully complete MW4 and get all of the achievements/ trophies.

This walkthrough section will be just for the main three objectives to progress the story, so be sure to check out our more in-depth guides for collecting every note, yellow crate, and shipping container code in Stranded if you're wanting to find everything:

There are three main objectives in order to finish Stranded, and they can be done at any time by either making your way there manually or fast traveling. You can do them in any order, but here's a good route to follow. Click the text to be brought to the specific section:

After finishing the first of three objectives, Tap to Reveal .

Prioritizing the SAM site first will unlock a handful of supply drops around the map that'll help purchase upgrades at Base Camp, so it might be best to tackle this one first.

Once you gain control of Park at Base Camp, grab the parachute and Sang 9mm handgun off the table, and turn around to chat with Sgt. Jae about the current situation. Once you’re finished, climb the stairs and open the hatch to exit.

Meet Kal at the edge of the building, and he’ll give you the option of fast traveling straight to the objective or breaking off to find supplies. Once you’re ready, make your way to the SAM site by either heading there the long way or fast traveling.

If you fast travel to the SAM Site, you'll spawn across the river. Cross it, taking out the guards on the docks to enter the main SAM site island.

Once it's clear, Kal and Dunn join you, then a vehicle patrol rolls by - go prone or take cover to avoid it. Continue through the snow approaching another bronze monument, then head right to use another house as cover.

Your allies start opening fire, so make your forward and take out any enemy in your path. Turn around to find a massive collection of explosives and ammo for the next section.

You don’t have a lot of time to prepare before truckloads of enemies show up, but do your best to scatter proximity mines and C4 around the immediate area. If you have any bomb drones leftover, you might be able to take out entire squads before they even arrive if you time them right.

At the base of the statue there are even more explosives to kit yourself out with, and an open yellow crate that contains Night Vision Goggles that does not count towards opening every yellow crate for the Time to Crate achievement . To the left of the statue is a yellow crate for this achievement, and right above is the SAM Site Note About Helipad note.

Hold them off until an armored BMP arrives, which you’ll need to take out using explosives. Luckily there’s plenty of thermite at the cache at the base of the statue, so get as close as you can without getting blasted and lob thermite at the vehicle. Two to three should be enough

Kill the Remaining Enemies at the SAM Site

Take out any stragglers that may have survived your initial defense. Using thermal here to spot them is another useful tactic.

Meet up with Kal and Dunn to Detonate the Explosives

Join up with Kal and Dunn behind the lumber to detonate the explosives around the SAM turrets. Once you’re done, you can fast travel back with Kal or continue exploring. Now that skies are clear, three supply drops land around the map for you to loot.

On arrival, you’ll see three enemies immediately ahead. If you’re jumping into this mission from the beginning with just a pistol, it’s recommended to head left up the ladder to take out the enemies on the roof to grab better weapons to take on the rest of the outpost’s occupants. Once the area is clear, feel free to scour the surrounding buildings for more weapons, ammo, and supplies, which you can use to repair items back at Base Camp.

Once you’re ready, follow Kal to the bunker entrance where you’ll find supplies one of the many yellow supply crates scattered about the map. Open the hatch and head down.

Once you open the hatch, you have to complete this section before you can leave and continue exploring.

Slide down the ladder, and follow Kal to the submarine bay until you breachable a door. Head to the right to find the Provisions note, then head left to proceed. Follow Kal down the stairs and into the water.

When you resurface on the other side, you’ll find a pair of locked double doors and hatch that should open after hitting the red button on the right, but the power is out.

Follow Kal down the grate he pulls up and dive into the water.

Climb back up through the opening after swimming through to take out two enemies. Your new objective is to find and repair the power generator. It’s in the middle of the room, but not accessible. Let's plug in the wire first.

Submerge yourself at the back of the room, then follow the yellow wire to the source of the problem - it’s been unplugged, and the area is gated off like the generator room.

Dive back in via the grate you came back up in, but swim to the left to find the opening. Climb up and reconnect the wire.

Submerge yourself again in at the same point you did when plugging the wire back in, at the back of the room, and turn around to head back towards the generator. If you’re getting low on breath, find grates in the floor above you to refill your air.

The opening to the generator area is slightly to the left of where you entered while submerged; climb the opening to find the silenced Rezi 12 shotgun and start the generator.

The locked double doors are now open, and a trio of enemies are here to die. Take them out, then head back towards the red button and press it now that the power is back on.

Go through the door and hook a right to find some supplies, then go back towards the main submarine depot room.

Keep following Kal into an office-like room, and grab the note Discipline off of the desk. There’s also some supplies on a shelf. Head right and continue to the munitions depot.

Grab the ammo, supplies, and throwing knives from the center console, then jump down through the shattered windows in front of you into the water below. The explosives are in crates marked with a yellow triangle .

Enemies spawn as you start to explore. You can take them out quietly by surprising them out of the water, or traditionally by blasting their faces off.

Either way you’ll find a yellow triangle-marked crate on the opposite end of the room from where you entered that you’ll have to climb, which triggers more enemies to spawn. Turn around and go back in the water and head left to, then climb the stacks to find another explosives crate. If you turn to your right while still on this platform, you’ll find another crate within jumping distance. Jump over and grab the bombs. Just be careful about the enemies.

Take out the rest of the enemies, then Ko directs you to the north door. Wait for Kal to breach the door, watch him baptise an enemy, and continue straight through. Swim through the linear path and come out a stairwell with two goons waiting for you and take them out. Head toward the stairs grabbing the two supplies, then open the door to find even more supplies; ammo, frag grenades, flashbangs, and another shotgun. Don’t forget to grab the note Traitors from the desk on the left.

When you’re ready, breach the door with Kal, taking out the three enemies he flashbangs. Head left towards the ladder that brought you down here to finish this objective.

Once you’re ready, head to the Jamming Station. Upon arrival to the mission marker, follow the stairs to the right up the hill. Climb the small cliff using the wooden planks, grab the supplies to your right, and keep moving.

Keep scaling the mountain; this is a linear path until you reach a dead soldier. Pick up the heartbeat sensor (it's very useful in just a bit), as well as supplies and the note Cliffside Dead Soldier Note . Turn around and keep taking the stairs up the mountain. You’ll get shot at by two enemies as you climb, but Kal takes one out, leaving the other for you.

A bridge collapses as you try to cross it, but you can time your jump to the other side well enough to not have to backtrack.

Keep going, but watch out for the recently-spawned helicopter’s spotlight - time your movement to not get caught. You can use boulders for cover to wait for the helo to move by, then keep booking it.

Fight Through the Plateau to Reach the Jamming Tower

Once you reach the summit, use your trusty new heartbeat sensor to track enemies that are hard to see in the snowstorm. Take out the first guard you see quietly (you might still have a few throwing knives in your backpack), then plot your course through to the jamming tower - avoiding the main road. If you get caught, an alarm will sound and a bomb drone starts hunting you until it loses you.

Enter the building on the right to quietly take a few enemies out, and if you entered through the bottom floors doors you can find the Jamming Station Quarters Note immediately to your left on a counter.

Once you’re clear to enter the main jamming station area, head into the door at the north side of the compound to immediately find the Jamming Station Main Room Note on a bench. The next room has a few enemies who attack, with one above you you should watch out for. There’s a yellow push cart in the center of the room, and you can move it over to a previously unattainable window to the left to find a Mojave .357 magnum to use.

Head outside towards the tower and climb the ladder, where you’ll find another yellow crate with Scout Drone inside. Start scaling the tower by climbing up a copper pipe. A bomb drone comes whirring into view, but Kal takes care of it from afar.

Find the red and white caution taped ledge and continue climbing. As you reach the top, Kal takes out an enemy who’s spotted you. Climb and turn right to take out another, the bomb drone operator.

It’s on the ground where you killed the drone operator.

Head back outside to find green chests that contain the bomb drones and pick some up. Use R1 to whip one out and fly one or two into the enemies that have spawned on the ground. Keep climbing the tower by vaulting over destroyed stairs, and reach the top with the electrical panel.

Open the Jamming Equipment at the Top of the Tower

A helicopter zeroes in right as you open the jamming equipment panel.

Use the Bomb Drones to Destroy the Helicopter

Two hits from bomb drones is enough to take out the helicopter, but make sure you take adequate cover to operate them as it’ll still wail on you with shots.

Parachute off the Collapsing Jamming Tower

Once you take out the helicopter, it crashes into the tower, sending you plummeting to your death unless you deploy your parachute. Landing safely completes this objective.

When you’re ready, head back to Base Camp to find that Cho has succumbed to his wounds. Interact with his body to say your final goodbyes to your fallen comrade. Talk to the Kal to continue the story.

The game keeps a separate save for Stranded if you want to come back later to finish anything other collectibles you've missed, so don't feel pressured to stick around if you want to continue the story.

When Ready, go to Base Camp to Leave for the FOB With Your Allies

Clear up any loose ends in this snowy wasteland, then talk to Kal at Base Camp to leave for the airbase and end the mission.
