Snake’s Reflection is the third chapter in Phantom Blade Zero . This chapter begins shortly after you defeat the Hunt and pass through the Great Waterfall in the Weeping Creek Valley. This walkthrough will guide you through the second major region: the Crimson Forest.

Jump to a specific section of the page using the header links below:

This chapter starts as you enter the Crimson Forest . Follow the linear path and climb up the scratched rock wall to exit the cave. Eventually, you’ll automatically trigger a scene with an Illusion of Inanis .

Inanis and Soul speak about a puppet girl named the Chord and how this area is the source of the crying Soul heard earlier. The Illusion of Inanis purple quest appears in your quest log after this conversation.

Interact with the nearby Crimson Forest Crane Bell to see pieces of the very events Inanis and Soul were talking about. We see Soul, Zuo Shang, and the Chord represent the Order, and Yuyin , Huangxing , and Moji represent the Mandate. Both sides work together to fight Maskwalkers named Hua Qianxiao , Jing Ye , Iron Fever , and Bai Chilian .

Now, look back at the main path to see a single blue flower sticking out of the ground. This is a Memory Flower – crystallized memories that Inanis helps Soul to see. Collect these to raise your max HP.

Go up the path on the right when the road splits to find x9 Twinned Metal and two collectibles titled The Eleven and Mingyuan’s Letter to his Uncle.

Go back to the split in the road and take the path on the left now, leading down into the water. You can see x6 Darkfire Charcoal in a drowned carriage, but watch for bubbles on the surface of the water. The bubbles indicate that an enemy is about to pop out.

This is your first fight against a Blackwater Crew Disciple. These fish-like Transcensions use small knives to fight, but you can overwhelm them with any lengthy combo.

Pick up the Darkfire Charcoal, then turn around to face three more disciples before picking up x6 Exotic Copper Ingots on the left side of the stream.

Walk up the stairs leading out of the stream, then take an immediate right to find a Traversal Talisman on a corpse at the end of a short path.

Return to the main road, go up the next set of stairs, and look right again to grab x1,817 Remnant Dust.

Return to the stairs again and climb until you’re forced to fight a shielded Maskwalker. Remember that your Dread Axe can destroy shields.

There are several Maskwalkers – three bandits and a thief – at the top of the stairs, but you can approach from stealth using the tall red grass on the right side of the path. The bandits try to surround you while the thief throws knives from above. Either take out one or two bandits from stealth, or sprint straight to the thief to avoid getting hit from above.

Pick up the x6 Forged Metal on the corpse next to the nearby barricade, then climb up to where the thief was to wall run into the next area.

Pick up the x8 Broadplate Metal on the corpses ahead and the collectible titled Crimson Forest on the broken carriage in the road. Then, walk down the hill to ring the Abandoned Main Road bell.

You should have plenty of Reforge Talismans by now, so don’t be afraid to experiment with the weapons and Phantom Edges you have if you want to try something new. Jagged Steel and the Scarlet Wraithblade are amazing options right now because of their unique abilities, but that doesn’t mean you can’t switch things up!

Continue along the main road to encounter two more bandits and a thief. Take the path on the right to defeat the thief first, then turn back to get rid of the bandits.

Drop down into the pit at the end of the left path, then climb back up using the scratched walls. Be sure to pick up the x7 Solvent on the bit of broken bridge once you’re on the other side.

There are two more Maskwalker thieves and a shielded bandit ahead. Once again, aim for the thieves first because they’re weaker and much more annoying with the throwing knives.

Climb up the ladder where a thief was standing to find a chest containing the Shieldbreaker Talisman . It’s an accessory that increases damage dealt to shield durability by 50% and reduces damage taken by spiked shields by 30%.

Walk up the lone ramp in the area and into the cave ahead to pick up x3,744 Remnant Dust on a corpse.

Continue up the ramp, along the main road leading north. Drop down the ledge at the end of the path to find a collectible titled Mandate Military Pledge and x11 Twinned Metal.

Then, instead of running across the scratched wall, drop down into the narrow pit to find a Blackstone Fragment . Collect four of these to increase Attack and Guard Break by 10%.

Be careful, though, because there are two bandits waiting down there. You can assassinate the one sitting by the fire, but try not to burn yourself if it turns into open combat.

Pick up the x8 Ancient Timber through the doors ahead and be ready for a thief to attack you from behind as you return to the main road.

Continue along the main road to find a collectible titled Orders to Protect the Young Lady and x6 Twinned Metal along the roadside. There are also two bandits at the other end of the road, and one is on a horse.

The Hunter’s Chain Sickle is a great option here if you want to hit the bandit on horseback from a distance, but he also has a shield, so you may want to knock him down and save a charge to break his shield with the Dread Axe.

Ring the Pangzhen Bridge Overlook bell to the right of the giant bridge before crossing it, then approach the man on the bridge for a boss fight.

Boss Battle: Hua Qianxiao, the Sword Fanatic

Hua Qianxiao, the Sword Fanatic , is one of the men you saw Soul fighting against in the flashback at the first Crane Bell in the Crimson Forest. He’s a shifty opponent who uses water to attack. These are the special moves you need to be aware of:

Hua Qianxiao is an erratic boss who attacks using quick, multi-hit combos. You might need to see his moves a few times to get used to their speed and timing.

Focus more on defense than offense because Hua Qianxiao can hit you with his floating sword even while you’re attacking him. You’re only fully safe to counterattack after a blue-flash parry, a red-flash dodge, or when you deplete the boss’s Sha-Chi meter. But pay attention, because his meter refills quickly.

When you do break his guard, you can use Power Surges to deal the most damage, especially with Jagged Steel or the Scarlet Wraithblade

You obtain The Fanatic’s Broken Blade Main Weapon (One-Handed) after winning the fight. Its unique ability allows you to drink by pressing L1 + Triangle on controller or Right Click + F on keyboard. You can also hold the buttons/keys to drink longer.

Drinking restores Sha-Chi and makes you tipsy, which allows you to use ranged sword attacks like Hua Qianxiao. Use the Power Surge while sober to immediately enter a tipsy state. Use it when tipsy to enter the drunk state, which disables your block, enables automatic dodges, and increases damage.

The Fanatic’s Broken Blade shares upgrade materials with Jagged Steel since they’re both One-Handed weapons. You should choose one or the other to avoid splitting upgrade materials at this point. You can use a Weapon Reforge Talisman to revert Jagged Steel and transfer those upgrades to the new weapon if you want to swap.

Cross the bridge to trigger a collapse – reaching Pangzhen isn’t that easy. Use the Chain Sickle to swing across the gap behind you, then pick up the glowing gold item: Simmering Brew medicine.

This medicine continuously regenerates Sha-Chi and gradually restores 30% HP for 15 seconds. It has three uses.

Run along the cliffside until you reach a cave. Pick up the Tainted Crystal Shard at the mouth of the cave and continue inside. The crystal is used to polish an accessory for the first time. You’ll find out what that means soon.

Look to the right side of the path to find wolves guarding a Memory Flower . Defeat them and pick up the flower to hear one part of a memory about a Mandate Disciple and a man named Ye . You need to find two more to complete this memory and increase your max HP by 7%.

Continue up the main path to fight more wolves. Pick up the x8 Broadplate Metal near the corpses on the left side of the path, then run up the scratched wood to take care of the Firethorn Thief. Pick up the x8 Forged Metal on top of the next ledge, then head toward the cave exit ahead.

There’s a Maskwalker ahead with his back turned, but don’t go for the assassination! It’s an ambush, and another fire-throwing thief appears, throwing flaming projectiles. Defeat both enemies, then ring the Trail of Cages bell further down the path.

Approach the corpse sitting on the cliff in the distance to find x6 Exotic Copper Ingots, then walk forward to trigger a scene with a caged man named Quick Hand Zhang . He tells you that the only way into Pangzhen is through a smuggler’s tunnel in the Village of Lu .

Agree to help Quick Hand Zhang by finding a crank in a cave up ahead. Turning the crank will lower his cage. Continue along the main road, then turn right when the road splits.

When you enter the cave, you should see a couple of different paths. There’s a Memory Flower to the left, a staircase to the right, and a log leading down into the poison fog below.

There are also a few dogs and bandits to fight here. Try not to get knocked off the bridge and into the poison. The Fanatic’s Broken Blade is a great ranged attack option if you want to attack from a safer distance.

The stairs lead to the cage crank, and the log leads to a chest containing a Blackstone Shard. You can open the chest, but the poison still affects you during the animation. Hurry out of there once you have the Blackstone Shard.

Return to the upper level of the cave and take the stairs to pick up x8 Solvent. You’ll also find x1,876 Remnant Dust guarded by two dogs and a bandit at a campsite.

The cage crank is just past the campsite. Turn it to lower Quick Hand Zhang, then drop down from the ledge to find a golden chest containing the Cavalrybane – an accessory that increases damage dealt to mounted enemies by 25%.

Interact with the cage to free Quick Hand Zhang. He has treasures to share with you, but you need to find them. The Wily Hare’s Three Dens side is automatically added to your Collectibles quest tab here.

Now, take the cliffside path, going past the cave where you found the crank. You’ll come to a bridge where two bandits and two thieves are waiting on the other side. Switch to the Dread Axe to deal with the shielded bandit, and try to attack the thieves first because they’re the weaker Maskwalkers.

After the encounter, pick up the x8 Forged Metal and x1,804 Remnant Dust inside the shack. Then, grab the collectible on the main road titled Huangxing’s Edict .

The Whence the Weeping purple quest updates here as you hear crying coming from deeper in the forest. A new enemy type awaits along this road: the butcher. Butchers use poison and heavy attacks to deal damage. Back away when you see green poison coming from their mouths, and watch for their hook grabs that pull you closer.

The Outlaw Trap bell is ahead to your left, and the path splits in three directions here. To the left is progress, to the right are two dead ends hiding several useful items, and in the middle is a floor gate that requires a Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank to open.

Pick up the x8 Solvent on the floor gate in the middle path, then take the path on the right to find three Maskwalkers – a bandit on horseback, a thief in hiding, and another thief near a campfire.

Defeat the thief at the campfire up the hill to obtain a collectible titled Blood Letter from the Nimble Thief . This adds the Honor Among Thieves side quest to your log.

Turn back the way you came to see a Memory Flower at the mouth of a cave. Pick it up to gain a 7% HP increase and complete this chain of memories.

Enter the cave to find a butcher and two dogs guarding a few important items. There’s x1,856 Remnant Dust near the entrance, and a Preservation Talisman Fragment 1 on the butcher’s table. It’s one half of a full accessory. The Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank is to the left of the table.

Feel free to explore the optional middle path near the Outlaw Trap bell now, but this walkthrough will continue along the path left of the bell.

The middle path under the hatch leads to 1,838 Remnant Dust, a Sha-Chi Amber Shard, the Kuye Dew medicine (Reduces damage taken by 20% for 15 seconds and restores 40% HP over 10 seconds), x1,857 Remnant Dust, the Preservation Talisman Fragment 2, the Preservation Jar (Reduces poison damage taken by 50%), the Sect Leader’s Snuff Bottle (a Quick Hand Zhang treasure), and another x1,863 Remnant Dust.

This middle path floor gate is a dead end, but it holds plenty of worthwhile items guarded by bandits, thieves, dogs, and a butcher.

Take the path to the left of the Outlaw Trap bell to encounter Jing Ye, the Outlaw. He looks like a regular bandit, but this boss fight is a bit of a surprise.

Here are the special moves you should watch out for.

Jing Ye is a boss who behaves similarly to the mounted bandits you’ve fought throughout the Crimson Forest, but he does have a few unique differences.

Jing Ye’s most dangerous moves in this phase are his projectiles and the dust cloud. The former is quick and blends in with the environment, while the latter hides the blue-flash attack coming next. You can block the projectiles and dodge away from the smoke to survive both attacks.

At about 50% HP, Jung Ye falls off his horse and changes to more of a shielded bandit moveset. Here are the new moves you need to look out for.

You can’t attack Jing Ye head-on because his spiked shield hurts you whenever he blocks one of your attacks. So, your first goal is to destroy the shield with your Dread Axe. Charge it up and use it until the shield is broken, making this a fairer fight.

He still uses the blood projectiles and dust clouds here, but his sword combos are much deadlier. He has several combos that he can string together in different ways to confuse you. Try to start out parrying, but dodge out of his range if a sequence gets too unpredictable.

You’re rewarded with the Outlaw Warblade Main Weapon (Two-Handed) after winning the fight. Its unique ability allows you to regain HP through a mix of Sha-Chi and standard attacks. The Power Surge is a series of powerful slashes that ends by draining life from your target.

This is a better two-handed option than the Scarlet Wraithblade, if you’re still using that weapon. This is especially true if you find yourself running out of hels/medicine often. Keep in mind, the HP drain effects don’t work on puppets, golden bodies, or phantom bodies!

Proceed past the boss arena to see a long bridge in the distance. Jump down to a lower ledge just before crossing the bridge to find the next Memory Flower .

This flower belongs to a four-part memory collection, and it tells the story of Huangxing’s command at the northeastern base camp in the Crimson Forest. Collect all four for another 7% HP increase.

Grapple back up to the min path using the Chain Sickle, then pick up the x8 Broadplate Metal in front of the bridge before crossing it. Speak to both women on the bridge, Ju and Lanlan , to start the Secrets of the Baishan Sect side quest.

There’s a small settlement on the other side of the bridge where you’ll find several items. Pick up two collectibles titled Who is Quick Hand Zhang? and The Mandate’s Decree . Then, grab x445 Remnant Dust in the tent to the right and x6 Exotic Copper Ingots near the bell.

Ring the Thieves’ Camp Crane Bell to see memories of a conversation between Zuo Shang and Huangxing a year ago. They plot to kidnap the Chord and dispose of Yuyin - two characters we saw in the previous Crane Bell memory.

You can speak to the Gentle Thief in one of the tents here to complete the Honor Among Thieves quest and receive a Silent Wrap, which reduces noise from footsteps and assassinations by 50%.

Yu’er is also here, standing next to a thief near the bell. Ask her about her goal to obtain the Record of the Missing Thieves collectible, along with Yu’er’s Life-Saving Pill. This starts the A Healer’s Mercy side quest.

Take the western path out of the camp and climb the scratched rock on the right side of the path to find x5 Traversal Talismans in front of Quick Hand Zhang’s hideout. His hideouts are marked by daggers with copper coins hanging from them, like in the image below.

Pick up the x902 Remnant Dust next to Quick Hand Zhang, then speak to him to receive the Quick Hand Pendant. It’s an accessory that increases one-handed weapon damage by 10%.

Quick Hand Zhang tells you that there are four other Zhangs across the land, in different hideouts. He also gives you the Lost Treasures of the Crimson Forest collectible, which starts the Quick Hand’s Request side quest. He sells various accessories and upgrade materials as well.

Continue along the Thieves’ Camp’s western exit to see a quick cutscene showing the Crusher and the Saw – two more enemies that are after Soul.

Keep moving along the wooden walkway and pick up the x8 Solvent along the way. Enter the cave at the end of the walkway to find a Memory Flower next to hanging bodies.

Defeat the lone Hound Trainer waiting for you a bit deeper into the cave. These new enemies summon dogs to fight for them, so you need to defeat them quickly.

Look to the left of the path to find a green Quick Hand Zhang treasure chest containing a Bloostained Seal.

Climb out of the pit at the end of the cave, then immediately turn around to see bandits and thieves. Defeat them to find 1,824 Remnant Dust and the List of the Fallen collectible in front of a barricade.

Climb the stairs leading to the upper level of this encampment and defeat every thief and bandit in the clearing here to obtain the Apprentice Healer’s Memory, which is a medicine upgrade material that you’ll use later.

In this upper area, you’ll find x903 Remnant Dust along the cliffside, the Forest Outpost Courtyard Key, in the building to the western building, and a Blackstone Shard guarded by a dog in the northern building.

Walk back down to the lower level to use the key you just found on the locked door. Walk through and ring the Red Serpent House bell . It’s next to a doorway blocked by roots that you can’t destroy without the Flaming Mane Phantom Edge.

Pick up the x6 Ancient Timber along the path leading up the hill to the east, then follow that road until a short scene plays, showing your next destination, a lodge surrounded by crows.

Cross the bridge and defeat the dogs and butcher on the other side. Pick up the x917 Remnant Dust on the left side of the area, then climb down the ladder to find a chest containing Incense Ash, an upgrade material used to upgrade Summon-type Phantom Edges to Lv. 10.

Climb back up the ladder and walk up the stairs ahead. Crouch to hide in the tall red grass and take the two bandits near the campfire by surprise with a double assassination.

Defeat the butcher too, then climb the scratched wall near the campfire to find the Cliff of Longing bell . Pick up the x8 Darkfire Charcoal nearby and speak to the puppets standing next to the bell if you’d like.

Return to the main road where you defeated the butcher and bandits. Drop down into the pit to find x902 Remnant Dust in front of a white dog, then continue along the road to find another x928 Remnant Dust.

Approach the lodge ahead to find x911 Remnant Dust on the ground floor next to a thief. You need the Crimson Forest Cellar Crank to enter the cellar under the lodge, though.

Instead, walk around the left side of the lodge to get ambushed by two thieves on your way to the Cliffside Lodge bell behind the lodge.

Climb up the ladder in front of the bell to reach the second floor, where you’ll find x7 Darkfire Charcoal and the Crimson Forest Cellar Crank. Be careful because the crank is surrounded by poison. Pick it up quickly! Return to the first floor and use the crank to enter the lodge’s cellar.

The lodge’s cellar is an optional area, but it’s full of useful items. Explore the cellar to find a Sha-Chi Amber Shard, a Blackstone Shard, a Memory Flower, and a total of x4,610 Remnant Dust.

This detour also advances the Secrets of the Baishan Sect side quest, and you’ll find The Baishan Sect collectible here as well.

As for key items, there’s the Crimson Forest Secret Chamber Crank (used in this cellar) and the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key.

This walkthrough will continue along the main path, to the left of the cliffside lodge. Crimson Forest Memory Flower 7

The Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key can be used in the Thieves’ Camp to obtain the Ancient Crossbow Quick Hand Zhang treasure, the Cave Prison Key (used in this dungeon), x2 Sha-Chi Amber Shards, x7 Solvent, and a total of 2,761 Remnant Dust.

You can also complete Yu’er’s A Healer’s Mercy side quest now to receive the Calming Gourd – an accessory that allows you to recover from guard breaks and prevents Sha-Chi consumption for three seconds after using medicine.

Look to the south of the cliffside lodge to see a gate with lanterns hanging from it. That’s the progression path. Pick up the x8 Broadplate Metal to the left of the gate, then walk through it, into the fog to trigger a scene.

Soul gets chased by the Crusher and the Saw, and the scene ends on a cliff, near another Memory Flower and the Mirrorwood Entrance bell . This Memory Flower is the first half of a two-part memory about the Iron Fever and the Iron Fiend.

Climb down the ladder near the Mirrorwood Entrance bell to enter a wide clearing where you face off against Stone Hand Iron Fever .

These are the special moves you need to know about:

Iron Fever deals big damage in melee range since he attacks with his fists. Be ready to parry quick combos with no gimmicks. He just wants to punch and kick you, so try to get used to his combo timings.

Iron Fever’s weakness is that his blue-flash and red-flash attacks don’t change up very much in the first half of the fight. They often come out of the same combo, and your counters deplete huge chunks of his Sha-Chi meter, giving you plenty of time to perform long combos as he recovers.

Iron Fever becomes enraged and glows purple once his HP hits 50%. He becomes far more aggressive, but his moves stay largely the same.

He does add one new red-flash grab, though. Watch for when he pauses, then lunges straight at you as he flashes red. This one isn’t part of a combo.

Other than that, you should be a bit more defensive in this phase because his attacks come in rapid succession with very few pauses. Don’t try to counterattack too early or you’ll end up getting caught in his next combo.

You’re rewarded with the Iron Gauntlets Phantom Edge (Martial) after winning the battle. The Iron Gauntlets have high shield-breaking power and can buff your main weapon as you land hits.

Look toward the cliffside to find the next Memory Flower to complete the Iron Fever memory and earn a 5% HP increase.

Then, take the eastern path into a cave to find the next Memory Flower . It’s the first of a six-part memory about Inanis. This also progresses the Resonant Strings side quest.

The path splits at the Memory Flower. The left path leads to a small optional area. Two Maskwalkers are guarding a chest that contains Forged Metal, Twinned Metal, and Solvent in a stream. Collect the items and continue on to find x4 Weapon Reforge Talismans at the cliff’s edge, past the water.

The path to the right leads to story progress. You’ll find x1,863 Remnant Dust, the Mirrorwood Long Pillar bell , and a Long Pillar guarded by Maskwalkers. There are five Long Pillars in the world as part of the Bloodline Awakening purple quest.

Go south from the bell to return to the main path. Swing down into the poison and run through it to find the Burial Grounds bell .

Defeat the Maskwalkers in the clearing ahead, then pick up the x1,858 Remnant Dust to the left of the bell. There’s also a Memory Flower near the campfire, next to x6 Forged Metal.

Walk down into the fog to find a split path. To the left, you’ll find x2 Phantom Reforge Talismans at a dead end. To the left is progress.

Continue along the left path for more Remnant Dust, and follow the lanterns so as not to get lost in the fog.

The fog is hiding a Memory Flower and several spots to pick up Remnant Dust. Follow the lit torches along the main path to pick up the next Memory Flower. This one is next to a large boulder.

Exit the fog to the south to get another scene with the Illusion of Inanis, as she explains her domain of illusions.

She also mentions the Banyan tree and gives you the Heart of the Banyan side quest. You should follow her advice and visit the tree to face the optional encounter there. You’re rewarded with an item that helps unlock more abilities in your skill tree, so it’s highly recommended!

Exit the conversation to automatically complete the Illusion of Inanis purple quest .

Drop down the cliffs after the Illusion of Inanis clears the fog, then ring the Parting Mists bell and pick up the 3,651 Remnant Dust next to it.

Drop down again to see the path split in two directions. To the right is a road that leads down into the water toward the Banyan tree. Defeat the challenge there to earn The Banyan’s Heart – an item that allows you to unlock new skill tree abilities at a bell.

There are five of these trees to find in the world, each with a different challenge. This one throws waves of enemies at you, then forces you to fight Jing Ye, the Outlaw again. Parting Mists Bell

To the left, in the opposite direction of the Banyan tree, is a road that wraps back the way you came, toward the area on the north side of the map. Fight your way past the Maskwalkers along this linear road, then pick up the next Memory Flower as soon as you drop down to a lower ledge.

Drop down again and pick up the x6 Forged Metal ahead to your right, then turn back to the path on the left that travels around the water.

Watch for the giant crows as you proceed north, then pick up a collectible titled A Mirrorwood Journal , along with the next Memory Flower . They’re both in front of the Mirrorwood Depths bell .

The forest ahead contains several items that you can see just by looking around the small area. You’ll find x3 Tainted Crystal Shards, a Refined Indigo Crystal, and another Memory Flower . This flower is the final Inanis memory, so it grants you a 10% HP increase and completes the Resonant Strings side quest.

To progress, you need to enter one of the three portals here. The trick is to listen to the sound of crying. The western portal is the correct one.

The second portal you need to enter should be straight ahead of you, to the north. The third portal you take is the eastern one. Then, run straight ahead to the north again to clear the mist.

You enter another similar-looking forest area, but it contains new items. Pick up the two Memory Flowers in this small area to hear about Bai Chilian, then grab the x2 Tainted Crystal Shards as well. The flowers give you another 5% HP increase.

This time, enter the eastern portal first, then the southern portal, then the northern portal. Follow the crying north one final time to find the Threadbound Great Tree Bell in front of a boss arena.

Boss Battle: Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents

Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents Boss Phase 1

Walk toward the giant tree in front of the Threadbound Great Tree bell to trigger a scene that leads into a fight against Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents. She’s the major final boss in the Crimson Forest.

These are the special moves you need to be aware of:

Bai Chilian is a boss who uses swift movements and teleportation to catch you off guard. She loves to use spinning attacks and quick, multi-hit combos in between teleports around the battlefield.

Bai Chilian’s serpents also cause a lot of trouble because they can attack simultaneously alongside her. Sometimes, the best course of action is to block when overwhelmed in a combo or reposition with multiple dodges when surrounded.

Don’t be too passive offensively! You can interrupt Bai Chilian’s combos, especially when she reappears from a teleport. If you get the timing down, you can hit her as she reappears to briefly stop her from attacking. Don’t try to pull off full combos in these instances, though. One or two hits is all you’ll get safely.

Keep in mind that certain Power Surges are also invincible on startup, so you can use the Outlaw Warblade’s Power Surge to heal in nearly any situation during this phase as long as it connects with the boss.

Bai Chilian, the Sacrificial Serpent Boss Phase 2

The boss regains all her health after you fully deplete her HP, and she returns as Bai Chilian, the Sacrificial Serpent. She’s got several new moves here, and they’re listed below.

Bai Chilian still has her spinning slashes and floaty combos, but she loses her teleport. She also gains a lot of range with her serpent limbs in this phase. Thankfully, you gain an unexpected ally during this half of the fight.

There’s no need to chase Bai Chilian around the arena. Instead, wait until she comes to you with her color-coded lunges. Parry or dodge when necessary to create counterattack opportunities. Your biggest opening on offense comes when Bai Chilian is guard-broken.

However, you should use your ranged Phantom Edges, like the Flying Dagger or Feather Bow, if you have one equipped. The Flying Dagger can even inflict poison.

After the battle, a scene plays, showing you the betrayal that Zuo Shang orchestrated against the Chord and Yuyin. You also obtain the Broken Illusory Pipa story item and the White Serpent & Crimson Viper main weapon (Dual-Wield).

The White Serpent and Crimson Viper can perform an endless Sha-Chi combo, ranged attacks, and can even orbit Soul as he performs other attacks. These all consume Sha-Chi. The Power Surge is an unblockable attack.

You’re rewarded with the Resonance Talisman accessory as well. It increases Sha-Chi by 15%.

The Place of Awakening Crane Bell is automatically unlocked when you regain control of Soul. Walk forward and pick up the Bai Chilian’s Notes collectible, then approach the bridge. The Illusory Pipa purple quest is added to your quest log here.

Take a few steps onto the bridge to bring an end to the Snake’s Reflection chapter.
