Far Cry TV Show Adds Oscar Nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh, Spider-Noir's Brendan Gleeson to Cast

FX's upcoming anthology TV series Far Cry, based on Ubisoft's hit first-person shooter video game franchise, is adding five more actors to its cast as it heads towards production. Oscar nominees Jennifer Jason Lee (Hateful Eight, Fargo) and Brendan Gleeson (Spider-Noir, The Banshees of Inisherin) have signed on, as have Hamish Linklater (Batman: Caped Crusader, The Whisper Man), Sam Spruell (Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), and Jamie Demetriou (Only Murders in the Building).

Far Cry's showrunners are Noah Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) and Rob Mac (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Previously announced cast members include Mac, Lizzy Caplan , and Steve Buscemi . As an anthology, each new season of Far Cry, which will air on FX and Hulu, will feature a different story, setting, and cast. The show doesn't have a release date as of yet.

On the gaming side, Far Cry has been dormant for a little while now, with the last entry in the game series being 2021's Far Cry 6, which IGN thought was great, giving it an 8 out of 10 . Meanwhile, Ubi's recent TV efforts have been good. I reviewed Netflix's animated Splinter Cell Deathwatch and quite liked it .
