The Milwaukee Brewers , as of this writing, are about an hour away from first pitch of Game Three of the National League Championship Series. After winning the first two games at home, Milwaukee will try to finish off the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road. They have already won more games in this year's NLCS than they did last postseason when they were swept by these same Dodgers.

This year's Brewers club, obviously, is much-improved from a year ago. Not only have they received massive contributions from their veterans, but they also have several rookies who have contributed to their success for much of the season.

One of these is shortstop Cooper Pratt , who has impressed his teammates ever since he arrived in the Majors.

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Andrew Vaughn pokes fun at Cooper Pratt

Prior to Game Three, several Brewers players spoke with the media. Pratt was paired with first baseman Andrew Vaughn, who was asked how much his rookie teammate has matured throughout the course of the season.

"A lot," Vaughn said . "It took a while for him to put his sippy cup down." Pratt recently went viral for drinking Fanta during Milwaukee's celebration following their victory in the NLDS. A devout Mormon, the Brewers shortstop does not drink alcohol.

Vaughn went on to say how impressed he was with Pratt's improvement at the plate and willingness to keep working on getting better.

Indeed, Pratt has been a pleasant surprise at the plate. In the minors, he slashed .257/.354/.380. This, of course, is not terrible, but there were some concerns whether or not he would be able to hit Major League pitching.

After the regular season started, Pratt signed an eight-year contract with Milwaukee despite having yet to make his MLB debut. In 59 minor league games this year, he hit .243/.349/.387.

Since arriving in the Majors, though, he has been one of the Brewers most consistent hitters. In 74 games, he hit .281/.350/.368 with three home runs, 34 RBI, and 19 stolen bases.

Having played in each postseason game Milwaukee has played so far in 2026, the rookie shortstop is hitting .286/.286/.333.
